I would call this one a Vacor lacking in something but gaining in something else. Cotton candy it may be. I have said it before and I will continue to think, that these marbles are the collectable of the not too distant future. ( I am loading up) There are many Jabos and Vacors including the Jabo contracts and others that just suck. There are many being made today that will not meet the mark—name them, DAS etc. I am missing one for sure—remind me. Many of these will be appreciated in the years ahead as Stellar. Do the research, collect what you like and be rewarded. I am always fussy on newer marbles-do the same. Condition is and always will be a factor. Look for the fully loaded ones. I would not be surprised to find in 20 years or so that the orange peel is a desirable thing to have. Who can really say? Early collectors of marbles had little respect for “machine-made’s” Many called them non –collectable or common. Wake up collectors and move on! We have to love them all and really expand our horizons or get lost in the shuffle. I will not get lost—Cat-eyes on!! And of course, Marble—On!!!

Well, a simple answer, they are not that easy to find nationwide. They made some great color combos (too many to count) and they come in multiple sizes. They also are known for defects, so a mint, no defect marble is primo. There may be some commons, but really not that common, not any more at least. They are an early manufacturer from a place not in WV or Ohio. Collectors are all in on something else-rebels so to speak--rebels collect Pelts, rebels against the norm and I love it. Marble on Illinois!! Swirls with multiple colors are Kings in the world of machine made marbles. The Peltiers rival those of Akro Agate-almost LOL. Marble On!!

Hmmm, It could be a Champion, my WVS ID's do suck though(they really suck). A pretty common vintage color combo attributed to many companies. A nice marble, who passes one of these when sorting--not me! Marble--On!!

Serpents imho Mojo. Vacor did a lot of runs in this style. Some of them fooled pelt collectors for a bit(superman). They may be making another run as we speak, they are a popular thing. Marble--On!!

This one is a Jabo. Nice and wet and a little funky too. Nice one. Marble--On!!

Yes Fire, a nice big Akro patch. These were seen in some of the later gift boxes, the ones with the kids on the cover. I have seen the spot that you mention on others of all colors. I really do not know the cause of it but I always thought that it may be an annealing/cooling thing. Marble--On!!

I collect miniatures too—I love these little Swarovski critters that look life like. This frog is wondering just how hungry he may be, I know what I would do. The marble is 1” and very nice to hold and look at. Marble—On!!

My guess would best Westite. Akro purchase the molds after the Westite fire. Nice piece!

I love the idea William. The smaller it is, the more room to collect more. I was always amazed at the crock collectors that had to build a shed just to display their finds.

Great stuff Chad, I really never really paid much attention to the marks. I looked for them of course, some do not have them and that always got me going when I found one. You have given me a new reason to dust. Great post!!

OK, I am hanging an apple out today. We would freak out if that one landed on our feeders.

Sorry for the wording that I used Ron. The bag is the same one, front and back ( whick makes it only cooler imho) I can only display it one side at a time here at home, so I gave it it's due here. I thought maybe the marble might be paired with it as a Champions prize. Marble--On!!

They are both nice but the yellow and green is very nice. Marble--On!!

It is a pretty marble and I love the way that it is cutoff between the darker streak in the third image. I cannot call this one other than very nice. It may be a Jabo. More opinions needed. Marble--On!!

Akro Agate slag. Nice one, most of the white is buried. Marble-On!!
-
Hmmm, That is a pretty big marble, slightly egg shaped from the images that I see. Not a Jabo, the hit marks looks like it is more vintage, a “harder glass”. More opinions needed on this one. Marble—On!!

Just a thought on this one Vacors can be very nice and hard to ID. Some are normal or sub mormal and some are stellar. It reminds me of some Champion marbles I have seen as well. Not an older slag imho. A swirl. Two colors for sure. Marble--On!!

CAC in my opinion, Nice turkey head, Not a flame, more points needed in line at least. Five or more is the accepted flame thing by most collectors. Marble—On—nice marble!
-
Great ones Ron, If they only grew on trees--love that first one. If it was A gooseberry I would be out picking them more--from the plant of course. Marble--On!! Marble--On!!
-
I love it my friend, Thanks for sharing it. No bad marbles!!
-
Well said Ron, always on the hunt am I. A driving force for sure. Collect--On!!

Thanks for the reference Nantucketdink. Where do I find one? Marble--On!!

I agree on the Vacor, it could be an early Van Gogh. Nice bright colors on this one. Thanks for the correction, I though that it looked like the Parrot that you posted yesterday---it was. Marble--On!!

I like the term Dave and I see it too.(my wife collects seashells) Marble--On!!

Thanks for the info Dave. I have seen this stuff while out rummaging. Now I know what I am looking at. I really like the glaze and the makers mark is killer. I had always thought that is was more contemporary. Thanks again, I will get me some.
