Thanks for sharing this hdesousa, It is probably one of one that exists in this shape unless Roger Hardy has one. I love the Akro imprint on the top of the box as well as the side stamp, very old imho. Top Notch for sure. I just love it! Marble--On!!

Woodse, Hats off to the folks that keep this a nice place to visit and share. There are many folks from the past, but right now Chad, Steph and Bumblebee deserve the credit for keeping this piece of marble history on the right path. This one is 5/8”. This is a very nice corkscrew, Oxblood and Lemonade. This may be the only one that I have seen in this size. Very minty to boot. The Ox has very nice marbling in this one. It lights up as good as it’s bigger siblings for sure. Marble—On!!!

He is the little dude from the Akro O'Boy gift set. I have his big brother, or maybe him at a later age--not Akro, but very cool. I have one of these boxes that needs some attention. I will get to it someday. Thanks, and Marble--On!!

That is the one on the lower left Ric. The one to the right of it is very cool and different. Show the cutlines and the other side. Make me a believer. The rest are all nice "Master Made" marbles imho. Marble--On!!!

Hey Fire, The term "bloodie" or "blood" has been applied to CAC marbles and is a part of many nicknames for a variety of makers. Not a Pelt exclusive term what-so-ever my friend. Your original post here does look like a hand-gathered marble and it does look red on my monitor. I would lean towards MFC vs CAC on this one, maybe a little bit harder towards Japanese. My favorite is still squeezing a roll of caps into a vise and then giving it a good wham. Fire works were not even legal to sell in WI at that time--we did what we could lol. We all managed to survive without social media--what is more dangerous?

Yes Fire, The one with the three bright yellow stripes. I mean no disrespect to anyone but that one would be a very weird Master. Master Made,or Master glass. You just never know, do you? Marble--On!!

Ric, Just look on the end flap of this box, it will clearly state Master Glass Co. Master Made Marbles was just a selling point. Once Master Glass finished the purchase and takeover of Master Marble Company, there was one individual strictly assigned to disperse of the entire old Master Made inventory. Some of it may have been put into these boxes but the ones that I have seen—many, have all included marbles made by Master Glass. Master Glass filled these boxes. There is one larger than this, #10, I think that Ron has shown one, it is quite rare with marble game rules on the back. Master Glass also filled many of the later Akro "gift boxes" showing kids playing mibs on the front or top of the box. I have always wondered about the oxblood patches that these later gift boxes were filled with at times. They do not look like an Akro made marble to me—nice oxblood, just not the same. Master Glass purchased Akro (1951?) and who knows just what they did with all of the stock and glass recipes. These are very cool looking boxes that rarely have any really nice marbles inside. Unless of course you are into Master Glass marbles like I am---I even like the cats. Marble--On!!

The orignal post from Fire looks accurate to me as far as the marbles go. Ric, Yours was backfilled with Master Made Marbles with the exception of the upper left which is an Imperial imho. The clear and white on the right side above the nice Sunburst is what I would expect to see, more than others any listed. These boxes look great, but the marbles inside usually deserve to be inside of the box in a display. A great example of Master Made vs Master Glass Marbles. I have some that you can fill this box with Ric--display the rest--they are nice ones. Marble--On!!

Believe it or not, Swarovski made a Ground hog. A day late---- I know, but this one predicts an early spring 🌼.

This is a new term to me. I would love to see some, as would many here on this board. Marble On my marble collecting Friend!!

I am a big fan of the underachievers. I always try to overachieve when sorting, if not, I would have never found these two. Finding ones like these in a lot always gets my desire to continue collecting flowing. Here are two little Cleary’s (out of the wild). The first one is just over ½” the other, the really nice blue one is 5/8-11/16”. The little one has a ground pontil on both ends, no lutz, just bubbles. The blue one has a melted pontil at both ends . This one is quite out of round but it has a color that is unreal and not replicated in any marble that I own—very pretty blue. Blue was and is a very expensive color of glass to produce, so I am not surprised to see that this one made the mark for sales. (excuse the reflections of my backdrop. They are both flawless) Search like you mean it and be rewarded! Marble—On!!

Your first and second mages are worthy of posting for sure. The third one is more than likely Asian. The last one looks like a dug Akro. I would consider posting any marbles’ that you have out of this lot that hold three or more colors. There just may be some good ones yet to be seen. Marble—On !!

This is more than likely an Akro from the start of a run when the rollers were cold. The texture explains that, orange peel is not an Akro trait, they were too fussy back then. This one looks like it was a dug marble, a nice keeper though. Marble--On!!

This one looks like it may be translucent. Shine a light throught it and get back to us with the results. Marble--On!!
