  1. That is the thing Gladys---this one has no Opal to it at all. Thanks, and Marble--On!!
  2. I remember when the big four included American Motors-lol. I did have a few Ramblers--fold down seats rocked! Doors opening on a turn did not. Rambler On!!
  3. I always thought that Kyro was the way to say it---too much Star Wars for me?? Never enough--. Marble--On!!
  4. There is no need to beat this one to death. Opaque will define it if no light shines through it. Cleary will define it if it is transparent regardless of the color (both collector terms). Most game marbles were smaller than ¾” with the exception of some Vitro that were ¾”. There are some that may appear to be opaque such as Akro Flinties and they are a bit more collectable—they did not come in black. Many companies made opaque and clear based marbles with a variety of names and sizes applied. As I recall, these were valued in the game years back probably because of the ease in sorting them out in the circle in the sunlight. They are a very hard thing to ID company to company as far as collectability will go, millions were made. I sort them none-the-less, and backlight them all as well---always looking for an antique “German” handmade with the pontils that may have been hidden to the naked eye. Marble—On!!
  5. Size matters my friend. My first thoughts on this one was a very nice Vacor. The streaming nature of the clear glass may point elsewere. I might call that oxblood as well. Nice marble! Marble--On!!
  6. Ok, Here are two more, The first one just seemed “special”. It may be a special Jabo imho but I am not that sure, I have had this one around for awhile. I sorted it and bagged it, who knows when? The second set is three different “Corals” on a green base---just eye candy for you all and me—I love this type regardless of the maker. Another great recent great find from eBay for the bottom feeder in me. I love this stuff!! Marble—On!!
  7. Here are two, Thanks to you all for sharing the info that has and will continue to share and educate all of us in this great hobby. These two are a “Shimmering Spruce” which I got lucky with in a recent eBay purchase and a “Clear Lady” that I have had for some time. As far as I can figure, “Clear Lady”---no opal—“Opal Lady”—just as it sounds---Thanks Ron and all of you, for all that you share. Of course, correct me if I am wrong. Marble—On!!
  8. Hello Akro75, They look like MFC to me. The way that the tail almost tucks under in the more minty one is very cool. The depth of color in the other one had me thinking"nice big one" at first. very nice 5/8" marbles to be sure, both of them. Marble--On!!
  9. Here is a link to a thread that has some names of Contemporary Artists listed. You can see why it might be a hard thing to put an actual ID on one of these. There may be more lists such as the ones shown with the actual way that the Artist signed the piece. https://marbleconnection.com/topic/20926-contemporary-marble-artists Marble--On!!
  10. A most hardy welcome thephunkfreaker. Post what you like and do not be afraid. The folks here have seen it all---well almost all. There is no judgment to be made—just opinions. I love this stuff! Marble—On!!
  11. I am in the waiting for the new Vacor book from Andy Mclaughlin in Alaska. Any news there?

  14. I agree--nice marbles for sure thaBlest1. Keep them coming and Marble--On!!
  15. Nice patches Fire! I would say that both are old. Vitro on the first one and an Akro "Hero" type on the second one.(this type is quite varied) They may be the same. Of course, any and all opinons are appreciated. Marble--On!!
  16. This book may be worth the money--just sayin. Make some more? Are they out of print? Marble--On!!
  17. I do take some gambles on the ebay format, most pay off because of the research that I have done over the years. The last image will show why this one was shown one side only, —just an as—made. ¾ inch killer this one is. I scored, a few weeks ago, even without good focus—lol. I am a bottom feeder and I do score---sometimes, the search is always on! Marble—On!!
  18. I know that Fire likes the funky ones—well here you go Fire, Marble—On!!
  19. Hello Scott and a most hardy --- Welcome, This is not a machine made marble. It is a “Modern Contemporary” obviously made by someone in the experimental stage of producing these fine little orbs. Do not get me wrong, the maker is on the right track. The finish is the problem here, the cut-off “nipple” is.; the bubble is not so bad imho. This is a very nice try and a beauty—it just will not cut it, value wise because of the defect. The folks that make/sell these with any success are perfectionists and I mean perfectionists, they sign marbles because of the pride in the workmanship that they all struggle with. This one is just short of the mark, and not signed, we all know why, including the maker. He/She will do better, much better, I am sure. Marble—On!!! And keep coming back with more to show the folks here.
  20. As usual Gladys, you do come up with some real rare ones. Thanks again for sharing what you have found. Marble--On!!
  21. It is a tuff one Jeremysvt. Is this under a full spectrum light? If not step up to one and get better results. Sometimes it will come down to color for an ID. Just based on the separation at the seams, It look like an MK to me. I just call them like I study the image—pretty hard😆. Marble—On!!
  22. I am far from a cat-eye expert--I am still in the study phase of these. According to my study thus far it is a foreign to the USA made, check out Vacor cats as well. They have some clear base glass ones that have been made. Earlier foriegn mades were a bit funky on the clearity of the base glass. Marble--On!!
  23. Nice way to end as well Dave 13---very nice!!---very nice indeed!! Marble--On!!
  24. This one may fool you. It is a Vacor eight finger at 1- 9/16” quite big for well filled cateye. I cannot name it after some thorough research. No chromic finish on this one, just a very nice clear based marble with eight fingers. The first image is backlit. Marble—On!!
