Gladding-Vitro was in business 1969-1982. I always thought these were made for the French in Canada. But, yes, they are common.

Marble Themed Pinball Machine
Al Oregon replied to Shamrock Marbles's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I remember making my rent money playing pinball when I was going to college. Can't remember the name of the game but there were 25(?) numbered "blocks" and various patterns to win more points (and thus more money) (probably illegal for the bar to do but....it sold more beer). -
What did the different companies call their clearies?
Al Oregon replied to Steph's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
"Marine" bags - and I could not find any Vitro bags with the name "Marine" like the Marine Gems mentioned. Exotic Gems, etc. but nothing with the name "Marine". -
Very pretty Imperial types.

Porcupine seems logical - pic from Block's Sulphide book. Sulphide - Porcupine.pdf -
Rich Maxwell posted this on the Vacor FB Board yesterday. I knew Pete had been seriously ill for several years. For those that don't recognize the name, he had one of the first marble chat boards - Land of Marbles, as well as his website with same name. He was really into Mega marbles that were sold in the US. He had an Excel spreadsheet with dates, pictures, etc. on each type of marble that was sold in bags in the US. He was aware of ones sold around the world but wanted to focus on the US marketed Mega bags. I never met him personally but we communicated over the years on Mega. Prayers for his family. Here is Rich's post. Hope just text me. "Hi Rich, It is with a heavy heart that I am telling you about the passing of my husband Peter Caparelli. He unfortunately lost his battle against the neurological, degenerative, progressive disease Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2 (SCA2). Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers." Hope Caparelli

BW or BM Initials on a contemporary marble 1 & 1/16"
Al Oregon replied to rockgardenplants's topic in Marble I.D.'s
I'm not a contemporary collector but looking at Steph's name list of contemporary makers - under the BM initials are Bryce Majors, Boyd Miller, Brian Mortenson, Bill Murray and Brian Myers. There were none under BW initials. -
I have a similar bag. Have not opened it (did not want to release the radiation....)

I'd be interested in what other long time Pelt collectors have to say. 15 years or so ago, the pictures that I posted by Guy and Chuck were considered to be bifurcated just like the OP and first pic in my post above. I have seen it narrowed down in recent years to just the base glass being the bifurcation. Either type is hard to find.

When you have clicked on an eBay item and want to copy the link to post it somewhere else (like on this board), you go to the address bar at the top of your page - the www..... "thing" and highlight the entire website address, right click and click copy. Then paste it wherever you want it pasted.

Pics that I had saved. The latter two include marbles that Guy Gregg (RIP) considered as bifurcated even though base glass was same on both sides and ones from Chuck G (2011)

Great variety!

What to take/bring to a Marble Show
Al Oregon replied to Newton's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
It is possible. I bring some of the plastic boxes (and so do a few others) but I won't be at this show. Also, there are usually a few of the wooden "show-off" boxes that people make and sell or are getting rid of theirs. By the way, collectors do use the small 2x2 or 2x3&1/2 plastic bags to keep their marbles in with tags or notes on ID's, etc. -

What to take/bring to a Marble Show
Al Oregon replied to Newton's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
If you have marbles that need to be ID'd, bring them and have them separated in "whatever" so you can make small notes on paper to put with the marble so you don't forget the ID. Memory is funny, especially when the marbles look similar. Same thing for ones that you buy. You can also take pictures of marbles for your future reference and learning.
