  1. And that is a ball bearing machine with a piece of metal stock
  2. IMO they were made like other CACs except the addition of the frit is an unknown process. I also say there is absolutely no way they were made from a cane and yes they all have one or two cutlines, They show the exact same construction features as every striped opaque and striped transparent. Why someone started the cane made talk is beyond me.
  3. Absolutely, It sure would be a boring world if we all agreed on everything. Heck, I have a problem getting anyone to agree with me about anything(LOL)
  4. They don't now but it sure would be easy to facet some pontils. Nice work Brian
  5. That was just in fun. Although much of the fake roman glass comes from Damascus Syria Some is believed to come from Plovdiv Bulgaria. Don't want to start a big discussion, these were just my thoughts.

  7. Glass workers in Bulgaria have been producing fakes of Roman glass for some time. Fake antique marbles would be childs play for them.
  8. My thoughts are those are some of the modern fakes that have been coming out of Bulgaria
  9. The one with the blue striping is a real Blue Lace. And the bottom one is that translucent glass that backlights transparent. The flame is actually 5 colors and the salmon white and black is usually found as a swirl.
  10. there was a large group of these with various printings at the Canton show
  11. Sorry Rich they go right back in the boxes to fill empty spots from sales. But here is a good idea of what kind of action went on almost all day at the show. It again presented itself as one of the top shows of the year. Room trading from tuesday night on with Thursday being non stop with rooms full of folks till after 1 AM . Can't wait to get back next year. The Buckeye Club rocked it once again. Thanks Smitty!!!
  12. I would agree with Swissmarble on the time lines although a few years after WWI is a possibility in my way of thinking but before the great depression which ravages Germany much worse than the USA
  13. Shooter was a term used in marbles way before Akro existed
  14. By the rules a shooter can not be any larger than 3/4". And holding anything much larger in shooting positon is very tough for kid size(or even adult) digits. I never heard the larger marbles called shooters until Ebay got going. It is becoming a rather common term for larger marbles.(wrongly IMHO)
  15. Very cool marble for sure!! We called those boulders. Our shooters were 3/4" or smaller. Can't hold those monsters on your thumb and they were illegal in sanctioned games.
  16. Sure looks like Robert L. Hamon . Now Edna has another style to look for.
  17. Thats for sure. Then the diggers threw it away again and he picked them up, And now, some how he gets folks to buy the beat up damaged discards. I and many others gave away pounds of that kind of stuff years ago.
  18. most of what he sells was being thrown away 10 years ago.
  19. I believe there were many marbles like those handmades coming out of France approximately 25 years ago. They were being sold in specialty shops in various malls. If not that I suspect Jody Fine.
