Are the crockery types different color clay mixed or painted on glaze?

I think one would be happy to get anything for them unless outstanding color and aventurine

I would not think it would be that hard in that color.

I have some of the CAC cullet marbles and I have to say I believe a lot of the new Jabos will be more confusing to folks in the future. Maybe because I collect the CACs it is easy to spot the remelts. But like I have heard over and over make sure you know what you are buying if spending more than a few bucks.

Bar Keepers will mess up the marbles. If you want to clean them, soak them in CLR for a while then wash clean with soap and water. I wouldn't worry about a mask with any type of hand polishing.

I call that type marble gutts perchas and I do so after comparing them to the Gutta golf balls I have hade. All have been so old and dried out I do not know if it is possible to get them soft again. The latex dries out over the years and looses a lot of its traits. There were many uses for gutta Percha and there is a wide variety of items that were made from it. It seems there was also a different quality to gutta when used in different ways. It was used like an early plastic and made in a fine textured(smooth)hard variety then a less refined coarser variety galls to what we call marbles. Here are a couple hard gutta items. And if you look close there is a chip on the top of the golf ball that exposes an interior that is just slightly more refined(denser,less voids) than the chipped marble. I have never done scientific tests and am just using a comparison to the many gutta golf balls I have had. They may be a similar latex as I believe there were several plant and tree saps used to make items in that time period. The broken marble is not mine.

They did use Gutta Perchas on game boards. They also have the same interior look of some Gutta golf balls. I would probably give odds on a bet they are made of gutta percha.

One of the descriptions of what makes a glass opalescent is that when backlighted it shows as an orange color. This glass is usually a whitish to a whitish with a blue tint to a light blue.There are tons of variations Bo's marble may be a nice greyish opalescent glass. Probablyly Though, the red ribbons reach to the center of the marble imparting the red glow(very common on rainbos). Not a red base IMO. Anyone can print up a certificate of authenticity. I wouldn't put to much trust in it. Looks like something new beatup and made to look old. Like millions of other new fakes coming out of china. Just my opinion

Kevins marble is not a CAC.

I believe mine to be Vitro. Esp, with the deep trans Purple, Black marbles. And Akro rarely left a marble container leave the plant with out their markings on it.

A lot of folks use a flower frog pushed into the glass.

Yes, they make handmade marbles and other glass objects by the millions. I happen to think some of them are of very wonderful beauty and great quality
