    Many went to scrap. Ray I am of the understanding Vacor made and makes all their machines. What have you heard about the machines that went to Mexico

    I still believe the Alley marbles where a total accident where a contaminant of some sort made some crystals with the appearence of Lutz. And who says what is lutz goldstone or aventurine and what is the difference between the 3. Actually let me edit, the stuff on the Alley marbles really does not look like what is now being called Lutz at all IMO

    The glass is expensive.

    Very obvious glass does not flow IMO. Heck if that was anywhere near true lead is much more viscous than glass so all the lead would have flowed out and the glass dropped to the ground way before it had a chance to get thicker at the bottom(LOL) An if it where true why isn't my Roman glass vase just a puddle since it was buried in one place for about 1500 years.

    there are corkscrews colored like Popeyes on opalescent bases

    Here is a variety of shear marks that can be felt. I kept the pic large so they are easier to see. Ann, many would call the top far right marble a folded pontil. These are machine rounded, but handgathered.

    actually they are called shear marks and are all the marks we call pontil marks on transitionals. Hand gathered American slags have shear marks but they were made hot enough that they are smooth. Here is one site with some good pics. I will take some and post tommorrow pontil/shear marks

    Same fakes that have been going around. Notice the no seams and the darker areas in the center areas of the color spots.
