  1. There have been thousands of modern Benningtons of all colors made in recent years, All the green ones I have seen appeared new, I see a different surface on the green and red that Is on the verified old brown and blue types. It may be just because the glaze is different but They are currently making them. The odd colored ones have become very common in the last few years.

The marbles in post 14 and 15 look very much like some Vacor cateyes. Vacor sells millions of marbles to European countries.
  4. I was a marble player for years. My 82 year old uncle was a Ohio marble champ. The only parents that showed the least interest in marbles had been players themselves when they were young. And not to save but to take a shot or play a game of ringer with us. They were cheap kids toys to adults. I never heard of or knew of any adult putting aside marbles because they were pretty. However we as kids often set our best marbles aside and they did not go into the ring. We would make side bets with each kid putting up one or more of his best ones with them going to the winner of the game. We all had marbles that did not go into the ring.
  5. We shall see if she eliminates the word Vintage. And if she does will she continue to list Vacors and new Chinese marbles in the vintage catagory. She bought all those marbles from distributors and knows exactly what she has.

I see what Al does. Looks like a German Sparkler type cateye more than a Asian cateye type to me.
  7. She knows exactly what she is doing. Using her listing name to rip off newbies. Here is her answer Hello..I use my id name in the listings...So people can find me. I asked ebay if that is o.k. and they said it was fine. My id is tammysvintagemarbles. I'm not saying they are vintage. And even in the listing I never say that...Because I don't know. So it's best not to say that. If there is anything else I can do please feel frre to ask...Your friend Tammy
  8. Directly under the Sellers name on the Box on the right side of auctions it says [ask a Question]. Click that I asked if she is positive it is vintage. Waiting for an answer
  9. Looks like you were out in front of me! Nice scores!
  10. Why should a person paying out the money to put together a collection of marbles view condition problems any different that say a collecter of china. damage is damage, many want their collection free of damage. And good thing you are not trying to sell antique china etc. a ding or chip can make a major devaluations. Sound like folks are having a hard time getting good money for damaged mibs to me.
  11. I may be the one confused. Looks like this was all about the first publication. I believe Ann dredged up a 3 year old post. I am guessing she missed the reviews and just got the book. Thats enough to upset anyone as this book was a great big disappointment. Really enjoyed AMMM.
  12. the pictures don't look any better than the first book. Looks like a pass to me.
  13. Same base as the other whities just used a strong light to get the Aventurine in the pic. Yes it was a total surprise. Here is the other one. Everyone was sleeping on this one. 4 whities these 2 included $5.50.
  14. I have seen dozens of the ones similar to the Pelt Pearlized(there was one with this) I have never seen one like this so I know they are much less common than that type. I guess I should have asked if anyone has seen this type.
  15. Just got this aventurine covered Whitie along with one of the solid aventurine green types. Like the thin band. I have never seen one like this. Anyone know how common they are.
  16. from what I can find Frolic appears to be a toy distributor.
  17. I believe there were some atmosperes that vaguely resembled Guineas and that is where the story got its start
  18. I do not believe Akro ever used an Indian head. Good luck on the bag hunt. They have been going for up to 300 dollars lately. I need a few myself.
  19. First thing I notice is no signs of wear anywhere on the board. let alone no chips there does not even appear to be any scratches. And that carving style is extremely common with Asian imports. I would almost bet it is the aromatic wood that is also common
  20. I would guess Indonesian and still think new.
