  1. I really do try and not be Nasty. It seems some folks feel not agreeing with them or feeling the same way about things or seeing another possible side to things is being nasty. Thats really not true. heck, I am actually a pretty fun loving guy. But I must admit I like catching kids with their hands in the cookie jars. And some of those kids make it very easy.
  2. I have always liked to hear everyones opinions and thoughts on different subjects, not just the nice ones or the ones that verify the way I feel about something. It is a good way to learn. I never did like blinders. And I have learned to accept that others certainly do not all think like I do. Thank goodness!! And I do not get upset or find the need to berate individuals that think differently. I always thought this was part of being an adult.
  3. Snot Agates, Snotties were a name for transparent swirls. It has recently become a name for certain CAC transparent swirls and to some folks one color combination.
  4. I do not believe that marble is related to the Parrots at all. And many of the marbles that are called Parakeets were made much earlier than the Parrots.
  5. Neat pieces Ken. I am still at total wonderment as to how it was done.
  6. It sure seems like nothing more than a way for certain people to get an (in) with another marble company to possibly do some private runs there. And of course keep David M. happy. I guess we will have to wait and see. Just an outsiders observation. Amazing that all the members were not even notified. Kind of lends credence to it just being a promotion for a select few. Galen
  7. seems some of us find different things a plus or minus for the hobby. And my questions about the supposed hall of Fame were brought to me by someone that has a much larger collection than myself. I was basically being the messenger on this one. And if you have read all my posts on every board you will find much more positive than negative. Although recently a lot more BS has been taking place in the hobby.
  8. Maybe if they are 2 color and look like Allies but those wouldn't have much sale value so I don't think we will see that(or will we?) I never really considered the 1" much more than curiosities so I really may have a tough time.
  9. I will have a much harder time trying to find fault with 1" marbles.(LOL)
  10. I ask because I wonder how a guy that was still alive would remember or know what was going on inside the CAC factory when it was still up and running. That was a weird sounding sentence as a guy would have to be alive to remember. Just can't think of a different way to make the statement.
  11. I have an idea how they feel about each other. I was sitting in Daves office when he was turning down her offer to buy Jabo. We then talked a while about her. I do respect Dave and get along with him very well. He is a very shrewd and wise businessman. What any of this has to do with me not caring for the new Jabos is beyond me. I have lots of respect for many folks that I do not believe everything they have done in their lives is something I like.
  12. I have never heard of such a thing being started by one small group of folks. Hall of Fames usually take years to develop and always include all the major folks involved in whatever endeavor the Hall of fame is to be involved. This kind of makes a mockery out of the hobby IMO. It seems that to be realistic it should be called the Teaxas Marble Collectors Club Hall of Fame
  13. And yet you haven't asked anyone at Jabo to sign the look alikes(LOL)
  14. Who has the info on the incorporation or any other relevant info on this hall or whatever it is. Who started it, who are the founders, members and officers, who votes etc etc. Never heard of it untill this year. I was wondering if Sellers Peltier, Arnold Feidler, Martin F Christensen, S.C. Dyke, Berry Pink and a lot of the other true pioneers in marble making were already inducted and when??
  15. David, How about you just stop suggesting what how or when I post. There is a place top right when you click your name and it says manage ignored users. Just add me to the list then you won't have to see what I post. And comparing the new Jabos to MK is rediculous. MKs are toys made for kids. The Jabos are cheap collectibles made for collectors. I have never once said you shouldn't have posted anything that you have, how about giving me the same respect. Disagree, fine, but how about stopping with the childish challenges and questions directed at me. The more you whine about my posts the more it appears you think I may be affecting your investments in Jabos.
  16. Is the barber still alive??????????????
  17. Not really. I have even bought Buddy boxes with Champions. Neat marbles made for kids. didn't disappoint me too much. and I would expect to find Champions in old Jobber boxes. Not new jabos in old vintage boxes. They sold many to stores for jobber boxes although many of those were filled latter. If I found Jabos in the boxes It is more like buying an antique item at an antique store and then finding out it is a cheap chinese knockoff IMO. Just my opinion, you do not have to agree or need to tell me I shouldn't feel that way.
  18. It will only present a problem to the person that thinks they are buying vintage marbles. And then it usually isn't a problem untill they find out they are Jabos. That is the point that it becomes disgusting to some folks.
  19. I just don't see how any more than one nozzle was involved in making the Guineas. As for when or how the blotches were added I have never seen actual paperwork so everything is pretty much conjecture on my part. heck no one has been able to even explain how they made 2 seam striped opaques which are layered like putting your hands together with the fingers of one hand laying on top of the fingers of the other hand and the other fingers pushing into the palm of the over riding hand. As for the guineas it is like the furnace stream ran through some pre heated frit before getting cut and rounded. I have seen some feeders where the stream acually ran over some rollers before bing sheared. Maybe the frit was added during a path like that/????. When is someone going to come up with some CAC paperwork????????
  20. I believe they still make the tigereye looking types. They can be seen on some of the German sites.
  21. The dark spots in the center of the color blothes are a dead giveaway that it is fake. And I have never seen a Guinea with out a cutline.
  22. I have had many of the fake Alox net bags. Still have a few around here somewhere.
  23. One heck of a guy. Very sad news. He will be missed.
  24. Here is the size American marbles were sold in. The sorting machines allowed any size in between to go with the larger size.
