  1. Having found Amsterdam marbles in many groups of marbles here in the States I am inclined to believe that one is an Amsterdam type???? I may feel different with it "in hand" or with more views
  2. The one on the right sure looks like another Amsterdam marble from here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. the eye is http://www.notjustmarbles.com/index.php/product/gateson-recko-25mm-dragon-eye-empyrean-sphere/` 3rd one from left on top of the case Steve and Jim top row 2 in the middle Steve and Jim on the left and right of the 2 middle marbles 3rd row down 3 steves (2 in the middle and one left and another Davis 2nd in on the right 5th row down And some more scattered around.
  4. I really enjoy trading for marble types I do not have a lot of examples of.. Galenww at gmail .com I pay postage
  5. The shear mark can on occasion be fairly close to the 9(which will often be mis shappened)
  6. I do not collect contemporaries but there are more than a few Davis marbles in here. If you want to guess I will answer.
  7. That nice seam laying on the surface looks like it could be the shear mark of a hand gathered marble to me????
  8. Very well known name from a well known family of glass artists(marble makers) I have a dozen or so Davis marbles
  9. CAC had many hand gathered slags and other types, American Agates being one) with no 9s. I also believe there are many Pelt Hand Gathered slags with no 9s. Seeing how Feidler was at both places and the hand gathering expert one can assume that is a good reason. Ann, do all(any) of your Cerise agates show a 9. Oh yea, he was also at Akro.
  10. Hope they are there, The harder I looked the less good stuff I saw
  11. All great movies for sure! I particularly liked Zulu as my grandfather was born amongst the Zulu And had to flee Africa With his parents when the Zulu wars took off.
  12. Good job!! The CAC glass is much more dense in color if that makes any sense.
  13. They did have some wonderfully clear and bubble free glass. I often describe it as like colored water. It just is not often found in their transparent based white streamed swirls. Slags yes, multi colored swirls yes, 2 seam marbles yes. the white stream being very solid is also important in ID IMO..
  14. I always thought some of those Pelt Pee Wees were some of their most attractive marbles
  15. Weird seam, lousy pics, I am with Ron
  16. We called the thin lined white based Pelts Baseballs. I do not remember the color of the stripes making a difference. I think we also called any swirl an Alley. My favorite marble was the Marble King bumble bee. My shooters were always bumble bees for good luck.
  17. Most MKs have minimal value and fracturing takes away a lot.. Many MKs have come way down in value the last few years. Some that were sold for over 200 dollars can now be had for under 20. Huge amounts of dug MKs have been excavated over the last few decades, some being very nice.
  18. The ribbons do not look like any CAC I have ever seen, The ribbons on CAC transparent and opaque based are usually very solid in form. Not the wispy thinned out and broken up stream that we see in those. I would guess them as anything but CAC. I also do not see the very tiny bubbles that are also usually seen in their transparent swirls. Here are some from boxes and dug from Brian G collection. They are good looking marbles for sure!
