Not 1993 or 94. Jabo was not even making swirl play marbles in 1993. I think this marble was made about 2004 or 2005.

Cairo Novelty

First two are either Jabo or possible Cairo Novelty ? Cannot be sure with the far away pictures. When I enlarge them they get grainy out of focus. The last marble is Peltier.

Like many marbles there are low, medium, and high end Akro Sparklers. They usually run from $50.00 to $150.00 each. Bills example is one of the very best and he paid $500.00 for it. I passed on it and Bill bought it. The box set that Bob Block pictured, I owned and Nola owns it's exact brother. Bob found five of these same Sparkler boxes in a jewelry store basement. They were still tied four ways with string just as they were shipped. With the bottom two boxes, the mice had ate holes or much of the boxes gone. Bob sold those marbles one at a time. The third box was emptied and the marbles sold single. The empty box was then sold and that collector was working on refilling it. I bought the fourth box. When Nola saw it she wanted the last one. I contacted Bob again and Nola bought the last box. Three of the boxes were dead mint and so were the marbles. The original marble is a Akro Sparkler. Very typical color combo for Akro Sparkler. I have a piece of Akro Sparkler cullet that matches the original marble posted above.

Flaming Dragon, it has both orange and red. As stated above.
-
I always thought that the Pelt Dragon was green base(no blue)with red ribbons. Pelt Flaming Dragon was green base(no blue)with orange or orange and red ribbons. I did not know of any yellow with the Pelt Dragons.

Every machine made marble company had double and triple ingots if they produced marbles for a year or more. Here we go again.

Veiligglas are becoming very collectible. They are bought up fast at most shows. The opaque ones are the most sought after. Nola brought several home from the recent Indy show. She weighed all her marbles from the Indy show, they weighed over 30 lbs. Most were 5/8 inch. If she likes one, she likes 12 of the same even twelve times better.

Show attendance continues to increase since the last two years. The recent Indianaoplis show had a record 52 rooms filled with collectors and marbles. Both new and old collectors plus new and old marbles. Canton OH show next on the list.

Those MK Wee Glows are the only marbles ever with a registered trademark name. One inch, 7/8 inch and 5/8 inch sizes.
-
That can grow to the ceiling and around every wall. Then into the second and third rooms.

Joe2 your marble is for sure not a Green Raven. I am torn between Ravenswood and Heaton. It reminds me very much of the Heaton Sweet Potato with thin green glass. Where the green was just beginning or ending. The base is much closer color to the Heaton Sweet Potato than the blue or green Ravens. The Heaton Sweet Potato base goes towards the coral or slight pink side of brown more than most of the blue or green Ravens.

Bill McCaleb that name meant a true friend to me for over twenty years. We shared all the joy and the disappointments over many years. He leaned on my shoulder and I Ieaned on his shoulder whenever the need arose. We shared many miles across the country going to marble shows and chasing marbles in the dirt. We were the Three Amigos. Marbles have brought so many wonderful people into my life. Bill was one of the early ones and who never left my side from the first day we saw each other eye to eye. The stories that I could tell, like a Tom Sawyer and Huck Fin adventures. I also received free one of Bills Alley Carnival marbles. Ric and I were standing there with him the day he bought them, thinking they might be Peltier. Bill was not good with driving directions or a GPS. So many times he got lost coming from IL to my house in WV. He was suppose to arrive in WV about 6-7 pm one evening. At 11pm I got a call from Bill. He was about 75-100 miles north of me, up the Ohio river across from Sistersville WV. He finally knew where he was but, no way to cross the river. The river ferry was closed down at 6pm. So he slept in his truck at the ferry landing and came back 100 miles south to me the next morning. We did have a good last visit a couple weeks ago. Making the best of a bad situation. On one of Bills many trips back home several years ago to IL from digging marbles in WV. He wrote this for me. He left me many items but this is so special. A side of Bill that many people never knew. Rest in peace my true friend. I know you have that dream pocket marble with you.

Most 7/8 and larger Jabos do not have a butt crack pattern. Not all 3/4 or 5/8 Jabos have a butt crack pattern. Many 5/8 and smaller Jabos do have a butt crack pattern but not all. Just because there is no butt crack pattern you cannot rule out Jabo.

I only see three vanes, red, blue and yellow. The yellow is not the normal yellow for St.Marys four vanes cat eyes.

Ravenswood. All the clear the blue tone and the twisting folding inside and through with the layers and folds. It is the combination. You might find some of it on many swirls but put it all together with the colors and it makes Ravenswood. Alley has some very close this color combo but lacking that much clear, no blue tone. With these color combo Alleys the twist or swirling stays more to or near the surface. Ravenswood used a lot of Ponds Cold Creme jars for white cullet. I think that white gives off the blue tone in many Ravenswoods. Many times it looks like a small thin line of blue. But look at the blue with a loupe and the blue goes away. It is a blue reflection of something in the white glass.
