    Alley?

Four ribbons and two cut lines. Alley marbles are normally random swirls or flames and show no cut lines.
  2. I cannot tell if the mark is a chip or as made dimple ? I cannot see the edges of the mark because of the reflection. If the edges around the mark are smooth it is a as made dimple. If it is jagged or rough then it is a chip. A normal hit mark is usually smaller and not as deep. With this picture the marble sure looks transparent blue.
  3. NO NO NO NO RUN AWAY !!!!!!! FAST !!!!!!!!!!!!! No more than $1.00 each.
  4. Conditon ? But Silver Ox, maybe Vitro Buttermilk, handmade lutz, CAC swirl, Pllet Bee's. if even nm+ worth much more than $2.50 each, more like $20.00 each.
  5. Carowill - some nice Alley thumb pots.
  6. 2.40 inches 2.18 inches 2.20 inches
  7. That one is 9/16 and I have the exact same color combo and pattern at 5/8 and 11/16 inch size. Now looking for the same 3/4 inch in my dreams. The mint green base is much lighter than the Pistachio and the dark color is a dark purple. When thinned over top of the green can look brown. The Pistachio swirl or flames are darker closer to black. I have never seen a half Pistachio, so I do not know for sure if the Pistachio's are true black or not ? If actual black, they may be the only black Alley made ? Very little true black glass with marbles. Akro, CAC and Peltier are about all that had true black glass.
  8. Most of the marbles in the Vitro guide on AAM have names. These do not have a name. The guide probably only covers 1/4 or 1/3 of all the different marbles Vitro produced. Vitro probably had more marbles named by the company than any of the other machine made companies. But they are one of longest life machine made companies.
  9. I don't think you will find them every month on Ebay. Or at one show but two or three shows and you might find these same ones ? Are they high dollar, no, probably $2.00-$5.00 each at shows and $10.00-$15.00 each on Ebay.
  10. Al depends on condition. I see a nice German handmade red/pink ribbon lutz. Plus others but condition can make a rare or valuable marble not so good.
  11. ???? I would have to search for some.
  12. I think it is a Alley swirl. If Jolly Green Giant or Jolly Blue Giant the white will not be as wide or bright as many Alleys. The white is usually more inside under the surface or deep. Some of the Giants have small pieces of furnace brick. The Giants are softer glass and usually show hit marks easy. They also can have lots of small bubbles which will be mixed with scattered aventurine. Some times they require a loupe to separate the bubbles and aventurine. The Jolly Green or Blue Giant can be over 7/8 inch. But I have never seen or heard of a 3/4 or 5/8 inch. If not a Jolly Green or Blue Giant ? I still think it is a Alley.
  13. Sure look Vitro to me. Colors all fit Vitro. The V o r U pattern fits Vitro. The cut lines look Vitro. Looks like same time frame as the Parrots.
  14. The larger one is a Pistachio. The smaller one is not.
  15. I agree CAC, and all the reasons just above.
  16. Is it a cork or a swirl that accidently corked ?
  17. Alley swirl . Heaton had very very few with any yellow.
