I agree the pictures look dimpled, rough, up and down creases, on the surface, reflections, throwing colors off. Probably Alley maybe gray or gray/blue base ? Maybe nice older Alley ?

Time to share. I have had it for at least 15 or more years. In hand and close inspection the marbles are not like any I have ever had, that I remember. Early on I thought maybe Alleys, then maybe Ravenswood's, then ,maybe Veiliglass. They were made in Japan. A man in Japan on AAM has done deep research into marbles and marble making machines in Japan. These above were made with a special cup a similar system to the Akro spinner cup. The equipment drawings, patents, company history are all posted there. He has added so much marble history from Japan. So much we never knew until now. Still much new marble information coming to the surface every year.

I saw the one Don had at the FL show. I almost bought it but finally laid it back down. I saw the one on Ebay. I never put it on my watch list. I did not get any special or discounted offer to buy it. Ric must be correct, you"re special.

Probably my last Sunday with this rare box set. So my Sunday best today. Maybe going to a new home tomorrow ? Japan machine made swirl marbles from 1930-1940 pre WWII. Japan was making machine made swirls as early as any USA company.

What size ? Does it glow ?

The Lutz(gold ribbon)is the most plain and common Lutz that they made. Plus it has lots of damage. There are different kinds of German handmade lutz marbles, Banded Lutz, Onioskin Lutz and more. Other gold lutz German handmades. They can be up to two inch size, maybe more ?

Later Marble Kings from Paden City location. Maybe 1970's-1980's.

Akro Milky Oxblood = white base, translucent or opaque Silver Oxblood = like a mossy or opal base, also can have white mixed in. Lemonade Oxblood = yellow vaseline base, also can have white mixed in, base, has to glow under black light Limeade Oxblood = green vaseline base, also can have white mixed in, has to glow under blacklight There are more.

Not any special investor run. Very few of the investor runs had 5/8 marbles. Except for short tank washes before the actual runs. Tribute group had a couple runs that included some 5/8 inch. But out of 150-175 different runs very few had 5/8 inch size. After 2012 there were some private runs and Jabo Co. runs that were 5/8 size and many of those look very much like Vitros even with two cut lines. I don't know these well enough if Jabo or Vitro to put any time line with them. I would not consider them Tri Lites. Tri Lites are very early Vitros with bright colors, nice color edges that do not bleed. The majority of Tri Lite marbles contain a good amount of high quality clear glass. There are very few Tri Lites that will show the but crack pattern. Maybe they are older 5/8n inch Jabo Classics, many of those had two seams showing ? Maybe they are 5/8 inch Jabos after 2012 ? Like I said, I do not think I have seen these before or if I have very few, long time ago or after 2012. I am not sure if they are Jabo or Vitro. But Jabo will have some same traits as Jabo. But Vitro not near as many butt crack patterns. Over all I think Jabo will have a larger percentage that the colors bleed. Five together, so mint looking, is higher odds with Jabo. Jabo used lots of Fenton pink cullet all along their swirl history. The pink in these looks thin and spread in the base glass of these. Like when Dave M. added Fenton into to the back of the furnace. Before Jabo used crucibles for color delivery near the front of the furnace. Most pink in old Vitros looks more solid and added same as the other colors. Like Parrots, Blue Devil. The Sweet Pea is much darker pink. Not that many Vitro marbles with faded thin pink color mixed in with the base glass. But some of this may be my monitor and picture colors that I see ? Just what I see and trying to put some of my thoughts into words. Maybe Josh will drop by and comment. He has better records and memory of more Jabos than me. Vitro or Jabo ? I am not sure. But I would not have bought them as Vitro. But I have missed buying other good marbles. So nothing new there.

I did, with that pink color, the tight folded V or butt crack, the dark blue and all the color bleed. I don't know if I have ever seen them before ? Jabo or Vitro ???

Akro Popeye Corkscrew. Clear base - strands of white- two or more other colors. This one is a corkscrew pattern. They can also be a patch type.

Henry Arthur Fisher was founder and owner of Vitro Agate. Henry-Henery-Arthur-Art all depends on which document or which lawyers secretary typed it up. That is the problem researching legal documents, state and county court house records, newspaper clippings, and old interviews. Names may be different or spelled different but can end up being the same person. Henry and Art same person.

I would have missed these. They looked Jabo to me.

Cut lines can separate many Master from Akro. Master has one cut line that is much more pointed than Akro. One Master cut line is more rounded like a U and the opposite one looks more like a V. Looks like the V would fit together inside the U if put together. Every machine made marble was cut twice. Some marbles show the cut lines and some will not. Imperial Asian marbles have these same style cut lines, that look like Master. They are often confused as Master marbles.

Alley and Champion made the most vintage swirl marbles with yellow. Most of the other WV swirl companies used very little yellow. The one above is tough, there is not much swirl pattern to help. Probably Champion., slight chance of Cairo Novelty.
