  1. I think it is Peltier. Pattern is totally different than Heaton. Heatons swirl and twist, usually show no cut lines.. The op is more of a straight line wide ribbons with two prominent cut lines. Colors may be close, but that is only one trait. Use every trait possible, the more the better. The pattern is different, the cut lines makes it different, than Heaton. Colors fit Peltier, cut lines fit Peltier, pattern fits Peltier, size fits many. Poor(seedy)glass, cheap thin white, later Peltier. Probably after Heaton was out of business. Just some thoughts. Normal later Peltier Rainbo.
  2. Alley for sure, made at Pennsboro location and early at St.Marys location. Good numbers were dug at both locations. Vitro Blackie Akro Vitro made 3/4 - 7/8 - one inch and above all throughout the years at Parkersburg. They even made later Cosmic Rainbows at 1 & 1/8 inch and more. I have opaque base Vitro at 1 & 1/4 inch. Vitro had the one and one quarter inch machine from House of Marbles in England on lease for many years. When Vitro closed that machine went back to House of Marbles. Vitro made 7/8 inch All Reds right into the late 1980's. All the Jabo 3/4 inch investor runs marbles were made on the early(1940) Vitro machine. Sammy Hogue owns that machine now, I think the one inch machine at Jabo was also a Vitro original. I am not sure where it ended up ? It was hard to run steady good marbles on it. Keeping that much glass and steel hot enough to not get roll marks and out of shape marbles. This is why most of the Jabo investor runs were 3/4 inch size. Marbles big enough to see all the colors easy. But not so big that the non standard loss would be to much. Maybe much the same with Vitro. But Vitro made big numbers of 7/8 and one inch marbles. The 7/8 inch and one inch size were both made on the one inch machine at Jabo. I think any of the one inch and up Alleys or one inch and up Vitros will only skyrocket in value for the future. People are collecting and hanging onto them tight now days. Any opaque one inch or more multi color Vitro is worth holding onto. Any 7/8 and one inch Tiger Eyes. old All Reds, Parrots, Whities, Blackies, 3 color Boulders, Cosmics, Wedding Cakes now $200.00 each, Buttermilks, etc. all being grabbed up and prices going up. Offically a shooter is 3/.4 inch, and above at 7/8 and one inch is a Boulder. Many call above one inch a Toe Breaker.
  3. I agree and with that much aventurine, it is a rare one.
  4. The last one in the first set of pics, white base and blue stripe is Vitro Whitie. The rest in both post look Peltier or Kokomo.

Who knows what that original oil painting is worth. Beri has a semi box trailer full of paperwork from Berry Pinks office in NY. She got all his office furniture plus his large safe which has never been opened since he died. Berry Pink was good friends with Roger Howdyshell who managed and finally owned Marble King. Roger Howdyshell was the father of Beri Fox. Her godfather was Berry Pink. Marble King Co. still yet today is the very long time sponsor of the yearly National Marble Tournament at Wilwood NJ. Marble King is the only steady producer of any American toy marbles today. Beri sells and ships MK marbles world wide. Beri is a big promotor of made in America. She was invited to the white house in DC a few years ago concerning, made in America.
  6. I think they might be later than the Tri Lites. The majority of the Tri Lites came from the first early Vienna (north Parkersburg) location and the first five years at Parkersburg. They are early that is why they have so much higher quality glass and colors. Before WWII and all the cost cutting that came then.
  7. Some of Dave Beckers first year production. First attempt at a box of clay polymer Alleys by Dave Becker. With Blue lady, Opal lady, yellow base Sistersville. From the tin above.

Not many early transparent Marble Kings marbles other than Cat Eyes. The early Marble King Rainbows are opaque base. The one just above is a newer MK Blue Boy. Same thing with clear base (not blue tint) is Clear Boy. All marbles pictured above are from the later Marble King Paden City WV location. The marbles are probably from maybe late 1980's more likely the 1990's. Which is later and newer for Marble King who stated in 1949. Paden City WV A cap which Beri gave me a few years back. Next is Marble King factory today at Paden City WV. On the left is Beri Fox Marble King owner and manager. Felica Delp of PA on the right. Beri was named after her godfather Berry Pink. Berry Pink was the most famous and well known marbles promotor in history. The picture behind them is the original oil painting, Normal Rockwell playing marbles.
  9. Akro for me = the 5/8 inch one. The two 9/16 are Vitro for me. Patches are as difficult as swirls.
  10. I am going with a Akro and two Vitros.
  11. The marble looks like a Jabo . Maybe different views would change that ? Anyone else seen any Veiligglas with this much aventurine ? I don't think I have had or seen any Veiligglas with av ? Aventurine - Websters= Glass containing opaque sparkling particles of foreign material usu. copper or chromic oxide. A translucent quartz spangled throughout with scales of mica or other material.

    Ric nailed it.
  14. Nice info and history for agates. My key chain holds a Jabo as a reminder. I was pressured at a show and bought it in a hurry at the last minute. It was described and sold to me as a Alley. But a few days after back home. I was informed by another collector friend that it was not a Alley and that I had several of those. Sure enough, I had more and it was a 100% Jabo. I bought it with my brain wanting it to be an Alley. We all want to make our marble into something it is not. My shock was at the next show. I confronted the seller, a long time well known and liked dealer. He said "So it is a Jabo". looked at me and said "What a shame, I thought it was a nice Alley". That was the end of it. He never offered my $50.00 refund or even a trade for another marble. But we are still close good friends. His friendship is worth more over the years than a Jabo marble.
  15. Better grab any of those bright Tri Lite four or five colors that you ever see any place. That was advice I got from the late Chuck Brandstetter about ten years ago, I did get one. He was correct they have disappeared. He was the most serious Vitro collector that I ever knew. They were about $30.00 each then $50.00 maybe $100.00 now, if you ever see one ? Chuck is missed and his wife Diane is not doing well.
  16. We caught each other today on missed size. It will not be my last mistake.
  17. Very possible. Glass looks better than most large Jabos.
  18. I agree with foreign, especially at that size. Near and some at Pee Wee size. Mk has not made many if any newer pee wee patch and ribbons.
  19. Correct Ric Champin did not make any this big. I missed the size. Well that puts me with maybe Jabo. Of course there are no Pelt Blue Lagoons at near one inch size that I have ever heard of. A one inch Blue Lagoon, now that would be some big bucks. As the mint range 5/8 inch sell for $600.00-$800.00 each. What would a one inch be $2000.00- $3000.00 or more ?
  20. Have not seen Scott for over a year now. I think he is still in or near Weston WV. Maybe someone said he was moving ?
