It came off of the front, of a very old hotel in CO. Dave Becker took it off for part of one day with permission from the remodel contractor. Then the next day the contractor made Dave stop. I think the rest went to the landfill. It was in two feet by four feet sheets. Sammy made some marbles with it. Every ounce of it struck on the marbles. When Dave first seen it, he called me and sent me pictures of it on the building, to confirm it was Vitrolite. This was the first true Vitrolite oxblood I had ever seen. Dave managed to save some of it and shared it with a few friends.

What are the other two marble companies that made true actual black glass ?

Akro Milky have oxblood.

I agree oxblood glass is old as glass hand made marbles and before. Rare Vitrolite oxblood.

If error marbles are valuable, I am rich. I am sure with each company, that they happened every hour many days and some days not many. When one happens at 250 per minute several can happen until the problem is corrected. As people packaged marbles, bags, boxes, wood or metal drums. They did try to sort out the non standard. But it was all hand work, pick out the bad ones as they rolled down a trough to be packaged. I have seen pictures and watched them do it. I could have never done it for one shift. Let alone five days a week for a year.

Hercules is a older MK, blue with black ribbon and black patch. Black being a dark purple.

The Tiger is Orange and dark purple/brown, looks black and the Wasp is Red and dark purple/brown, looks black. Bengal Tiger is Orange and Yellow with dark purple/brown, looks black.
