Speed Racer
At a little over an inch, I thought I'd share this one. I think I see a little oxblood in there as well. Got some pocket wear tho.

Steph
Why the heck you bury this in Marble ID! [click click move forum click confirm thank you] That's a handful! Yummy.
Speed Racer
Thanks! I dunno, I forgot to ask if anyone else thought that was ox in the third pic contrasting with the white. It shows up as a very thin line outlining the red area. See it? Now you can move it back Steph. (kidding of course)
Ric
Nice marble. I see what you see. It sure looks like it might be ox. Kinda hard to tell from here though. But if it is, I'm thinking there might be a wider stripe hiding in/under the red too.
Steph
That's okay Speed Racer. We need more brag threads so don't be modest. I think I see the ox too. The mib is from the era of oxen tricolors so that's not surprising. If it's only a stray strand maybe it is a byproduct of the red colorant or maybe it's leftover from a different run. [edit: but the more I look the more it does seems as if there might be more in/over/under the red ribbon. Some nice rich color in there.]
Scoop
Hey Roger!!! Nice to see the blue bird around!!! LOL I was really skeptical about the ox.... But yeah, when I opened that third picture, it sure looks like it's there!! It also looks as if you could scrape / chip off some of that red and find an ox stripe underneath... Ya might not wanna do that, though!!! ROFLMAO
Speed Racer
That's okay Speed Racer. Hey Steph, do you think Lou would mind much if I changed my user name to Speed Racer? (just askin') Pretty please? Sue, thanks, it's been an interesting past six months, but I'll try to check in more now that things are starting to settle a little. Miss you guys! One more question about the Akro, if I may. Since it is oxen, is the yellow considered egg yolk? I'm reachin' here, ain't I? lol
Steph
I'm mostly afraid to anything eggyolk. I think the oxblood tricolors are from a later era than the mibs which usually get tagged as eggyolk. whichever ones those are. p.s., I sent Lou a note about your username. :-)
Speed Racer
Thanks Steph! Speed Racer is more up my alley, so to speak. I never slow down my mom always says. Marbles are my new Peltro. I mean petro! lol
Kingfisher
In my understanding of Oxblood, it was supposed to be on the surface, like a quick last spin... Unless it was a a solid OB Brick... Any transparency would be Onyx or a blend of... IMHO I would say nay to oxblood...
Speed Racer
Thanks Gene! I took a better pic, outside this time. Can you see the very thin ox-looking line contrasting against the white?

Alan
Based upon the photos - the darker band appears to be just that - a darker band. I don't see oxblood in those photos.

david Chamberlain
I took a closer look at that 3rd pic as well and although you'd naturally want to have it be oxblood and think all you have there is a bit of diminishment of the red by overlapping into the white. Still a lotta nice color! David
