Ric
Unbelievable! I THINK I have something to contribute to this awesome thread: 11/16" single ground pontil. Am I warm?
Ric
I really do love this thread! Here's an odd thing . . . a ground-faceted pontil and a relatively large as-made something-or-another on a slag that is 31/64" at its largest diameter. Has anyone seen others like this? Is it from a piece of jewelry or something? Kinda wild . . .
Scoop
Hey Ric, I think your right on track with both of yours... The green one is odd with that hole in it... It could be a blow-out (does the inner end look like the inside of a bubble?) It looks very round and regular for a blow-out... Who knows what has happened to these things over the years.... But, I think it's origin is the same as the others here.
orbboy
My first thought was A blowhole as well. But it does look extra round? Have to add this one from the Bay. $2,000+ Wowzers.
