I could post pastels for a long time. A beach ball by Charles Gibson

marble novice
O.M.G.!!! They're beautimous!!! But I'm still not sure I understand the initial question. Who's afraid of pastel colors?? So, like, maybe boys don't play with girl-like marbles (or is the message something else and I'm too afraid to acknowledge that I'm just being dense? lol!) sissydear
Some of the big boys might be afraid of them. They are sort of "girl colors".
marble novice
Ahhh, I think I'm developing a well-rounded diet for marbles; I certainly appreciate the simpler, "meat and potatoes" and the varied beauty found in the older marbles, but these colorful, contemporary ones... they're eye candy! (I cannot figure out what's going on with that Geoffrey Beetem one; it's just a lot of ... FLASH! Is all that color inside the marble, is it a reflection of the neighbors, or...? )
sissydear
There is really no color in the Beetem marble. it's an air trap and just crystal clear glass. It is sitting on a prism. If I spin it, it picks up all the colors of the prism bending white light into the rainbow colors.
clydetul62
Pastels can be for boys too. Sometimes simple is good.
marble novice
That's a handsome one, clyde. I love the thin lines. And pastel blue probably works better for boys. So, please tell... Who made that one? (Based on the first photo, it's a flame?)

mmuehlba
Here are some that are drawn with pastels the hardest thing to master in painting and then to do marbles . Don is the best and the only one to do marbles in pastel . It is also the hardest to get pictures of . these are not like in person . the smaller one is an original the others are only prints of an original .
