IowaMarble Posted September 15, 2014 Report Share Posted September 15, 2014 They are in the patch family but I don't know that it is necessarily in the "peerless" family. I don't know that most collectors attempt to make a distinction for these types. Blue bruisers are the most common followed by green and then white. I have only seen those three colors personally. I believe the base must be dark transparent green for it to be a bruiser if I am not mistaken. Maybe Charles, Chuck or Sami can chime in here. I have not seen "Bruisers" in a Peerless box but again that is just me. Bruiser is a name given by collectors not one used by Peltier to my knowledge. Until I put a light behind it and it turned out to be a dark green base also. Ended up being a jabo. My vote is that's what you've got as well. I am not sure about amber, although I do recall a JABO that can sometimes be mistaken for a Bruiser. Unfortunately, I don't remember the details. westcoast_dave Posted September 21, 2014 Report Share Posted September 21, 2014 The bruiser's opaque-look is a very nice optical illusion. Bruisers will almost always have fine brown filaments in their green transparent base, you can see them if you put a high powered light to it.
