Ric
Bob, I liked the little Alpine adventure too. It's my understanding that, back in the day, similar mills were used to make everything from Blood Allies to cannon balls. The cup is Alley:
Steph
Well, that's different. And neat.
Ric
What's different about it, Steph? Look close . . .
Steph
I just meant I don't remember ever seeing that before. Alley pops up in unexpected places. Is there something extra special I need to notice now? The flame is nice. Is there something else?

Steph
We got a cup. We got a marble. We got Pressman. We've got an early spelling of the game name. I don't know!!!!
Ric
You're a sport, Steph. I won't frustrate you anymore. I had this game for quite a long while before I noticed the misprint - no score in one of the corners. I hope Pressman got a cut rate from the printer! kbobam
Oh! Don't say 'just' when talking about one inch Akros! There's something particularly appealing about them. A few of us (you know who you are) are sort of secret 'cult' members! But I'm not allowed to talk about it! Perhaps I've said too much! Some of my favorite marbles belong to what I'm going to call the 'type' you're showing here. They're especially interesting in my book, because in one sense the deep reds sort of 'clash' with the other colors. But when you look at them another way, the other colors are performing as 'wingmen' to emphasize the beautiful Akro oxblood. ( :
kbobam
Ha! I think maybe Steph already agreed with me, but did it more creatively. Since I seem to be frequently 'out of the loop' by nature, I had to look up 'Gobstopper'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everlasting_Gobstopper
Ric
You're right, Bob, they wouldn't look as good with just the oxblood. Here are some similarly colored Marble Kings. If only they were as big!

disco005
That is a beauty Ric! Great color combination and contrasts but I just received this one, the gray has a metallic quality to it, haven't seen this yet on a corkscrew. 21/32"
