Steph
We thought this one may have been discussed here before. Does it look familiar? Description given: The backlight picture makes the marble appear amber but it's more of a brownish red. It also has bubbles within. 5/8"
Steph
No? Japanese?

winnie
Not Japanese, not that I know of but why not Peltier?
Steph
That's still how I'm leaning. Would still feel better with some firm confirmation. Kind of surprised at that lack of confirmation. But different people have sent feelers out and apparently there is much doubt.
Steph
I coulda sworn I saw Ruby Slippers built like that. But so far I haven't found where.
winnie
I've on with exactly the same pattern among my Japanese mushroom types, but it is completely opaque. I know from Roger b,there are also transp- ones so.......
westcoast_dave
It looks foreign to me.
westcoast_dave
This foreign marble is the closest one i've seen to a ruby slipper.
FISHSLAYERMARRBLEGRIFF
Is it one of those Peltrokingbo marbles, signed by the artist J.A.Pan? Dont KNOW why,but Im getting a euro vibe,,,
ann
dave -- while you're here . . . could you clarify for me something I've recently gotten conflicting info on? The distinction between a Ruby Slipper and a Cherry Bomb?

bumblebee
It reminds me of this 5/8" one that was previously ID'd on this forum and another as most likely Pelt.
westcoast_dave
J.A. Pan is high on the suspect list for sure. Ann, the ruby slipper is a rainbo era marble, more ruby red and bubbly than the cherry bomb. The Cherry Bomb has late nlr style ribbons and is a brighter red. I find them more in the large sizes 23/32"+.

But im always open to new evidence.
bumblebee
At the moment my feeling is that these deep uv based marbles are most likely not peltier. But im always open to new evidence. Interesting...that bottom one with the blue feels more like an Akro patch now. One would think though that if these (or the original from Steph) were foreign then they'd be newer, more common, and therefore more likely to show up in a box or bag for confirmation. Or not...? westcoast_dave
I believe them to be older. Not sure i would call the UV ones foreign though. Nor tie two ribbon marbles to any one maker/time period. Vitro also crossed my mind on the UVs. For the first one i think Griff had it right with Pel-tro-king-bo lol, but seriously i'm on board with winnie and trans. mushroom type, many of the transparent based ones look pelty. ann
Thanks, Dave -- the great pics show the difference really well!
MC Marbles
I think a mushroom type as well. Or maybe a toadstool?
marboman
Thanks again Dave, I'm thinking these are Cherry Bombs now. Sizes are 21/32" and 11/16"
westcoast_dave
Yup, bombs away. The largest i've seen is a 13/16", i'd probably faint the day i see a 15/16" or 7/8".
