Mixed Messages

Post your marbles which have the features that we famously associate with other makers.

I've done this with buttcracks before -- gathering together pictures of non-Jabo buttcracks.  

But let's broaden the search ... for example, post things like non-Vitro V's.  Or non-Akro eyelashes.  Or non-CAC single-seam marbles.   What other features can you think of that people associate with one maker but you have seen it in other makers?

Look like slags, especially to newbies, but are Mega/Vacor.

That reminds me of a sweet Vacor I had with stretchy frit which I so hoped was a guinea.  

I'm sure the photos are lost to the great Macintosh Hard Drive Crash of 2008.

I just did a random google ... would you say the top right rainbo here is close to "vitro lips" or a "vitro v"?

That one gets pretty close, Steph. But, if you want a Pelt that has a great V, check out this Burnt Christmas tree. I can hear it already....the somewhat new collector....oh look at the V for Vitro! =}

Or how about a Butt crack Pelt, and as far as I can find a single seam.

Looks an awful lot like a vitro but it's an akro out of the pictured box set.

Yes, I guess as a related subject we could have the cold rolls and nozzle marks that newbies think look like pontils.

And the marbles you posted with the fire inside reminded me of that as something which sense mixed messages.

I remember how often I hoped the fire I was seeing meant Akro, but now I realize how very many makers produced balls of fire.

I bought this Vitro shooter from a blurry photo thinking it was an Akro cork with an unusual color combination.

 

I love the eyelashes on that blue Winnie.
