Fire1981
I haven't heard these marbles come up here on the Board for discussion. I can't remember if the make swirls or 2 seamers. Does anyone know or have any information about the Bogards
wvrons
Jack Bogard and his father made marbles at the old Heaton factory. Until his father passed Jack was the semi truck driver. Then he got the company. I talked with Jack many times over the years. A long story how we finally met. Sad but I received news that Jack passed away not to long ago. Jack eventually was half and then a third partner of the Jabo Co. I am not positive Jack made any swirl marbles while at the Heaton site. He did have a hand in some swirls for Jabo. At the old Heaton site Jack made industrial marbles, four vane cat Eyes that are very difficult to separate from MK. He also made banana cat eyes there. some of the green ones are very difficult to separate from Peltier. Jack did not like making swirl marbles. Because he was not very good at it. His main production at the Heaton site was, Industrial marbles, four vane Cat Eye's, Game marbles, and the banana cats. Jack was good at making the industrial marbles. Of course that is what he wanted to make all the time. I have a lot of stories around Jack Bogard. He owned the last set of(which I knew of)Ravenswood marble machine rolls. He ran them one time at Jabo but they were way to slow to make any profit with. Jack Bogard owned the Vitro Agate trademark. Jack never made any marbles(intentional)where the cut lines showed . No one or two seam cut lines on standard production Bogard marbles. Jack repackaged Heaton swirls with his on label and or his label stapled over top of the original Heaton label. Jack Bogard played a big role in machine made marbles for many years. Chuck(cheese)has some nice history items of Bogard. Some of Jack Bogard banana Cat eyes. Any package of these is rare.

Fire1981
If you keep telling us about all this stuff I think they might think you’re paying them back and more. So there you go.

cheese
I agree also. Those people wanted their knowledge shared and you are doing it. Exceptionally well. I do have a good bit of Bogard paperwork. Things like cancelled business checks and stubs written to all the places they got sand, fuel, cullet, and that sort of thing from. Payroll checks and stubs, invoices to buyers, invoices from suppliers, bills of lading, and other stuff. If there is any interest in it I'm always glad to share photos. Some of it is interesting, purchases of marbles from Vitro and MK and sales to champion and other places. It's also interesting to see who bought industrial marbles... places like Atari, pharmaceutical companies, spray paint companies, etc...
