Fire1981
First of all. I don’t know if anyone made Black Slags. I have louped the flea bites. I’ll venture out but I think Some black glass in this one. I have no idea on the ID. It’s 3/

akroorka
This one look like an Akro Purple slag to me----OK, you are Krazy. Join the club🖖. Hard backlight, and it will reveal itself, at least on the edges. Some of these sure do look black. Marble--On!!

akroorka
There is no black glass imho. Brown, purple, blue etc etc all in very deep shades. You will aways find a color in black glass if you look really hard, under very bright directed light. The camera will often show what you do not see in hand. Alan
If you Maglite it, it will be purple glass.

wvrons
Three marble companies made true black glass. There is true black glass. Just not much of it with most marbles.

Vitro has the black helmet and Well C.A.C. has black in their mibs,, Akro might have some but all the ones I have I backlit seemed a heavy purple Well.....that's what I got. Da Roberto
In my opinion, Akro has REAL black glass. Some Indian blankets I own, black, even where you see it fade is always black, neither gray nor purple
akroorka
It is always fun bumping heads on a topic like this👀. Thanks Ron, and all of you, it has been fun and collecting should be fun. Black vs. whatever color. The fact is, no matter the actual color, black was the intended target in most cases. I promise to never bring the whole subject up again---really!! I can nit-pick with the best of them but it is time for me to quit on this subject—I concede and will continue to— Marble—On!!!
Tommy
I was waiting for you to add to the subject. I'm on the fence in a way . I like trivia and Ron's stated 3 company's made black. Fun question and I had a kind of cheet book in these pages.Seems to make sense because there are some marbles I have I would have sworn were black until you use a super bright light to show the real color sometimes on the edges but it may just be the way the glass overlays eachother....that said ..my pelts look black even under bright backlight. I have one C.A.C I believe that is a black base glass ...some of the pictures I've seen look to have black . Discussion brings answers. I value your knowledge thank you andkeep it coming. Lol....👍👊

wvrons
Akro solid true black. Some of the highest price Akroware by color is black. Probably the next highest price by color is the gray and black swirled.
