My macro lens can do better with better lighting, but this is a good example for now.

Nice shots bumblebee. I will add a few of mine--it took about 100 shots:computer-22:.

The facets are hard to get an image of under the best of circumstances.

If you have never backlit a faceted Agate--do it and be rewarded. I have one "faceted" that I could have sworn that was mint/untouched until---backlit.

I posted an old bruiser back lit and not---very cool!!

Happy New Year bumblebee!!

Wow, you have patience!

Your last one is gorgeous with all that backlighting. Looks like a full moon!

Happy New Year

I just got a special Agate from a Marble Buddy here on the Board that I can add to my collection. Anytime you can snag one these do so. The hit marks and backlighting on these are always fun🔥

Nice group! You guys are inspiring me to come up with some sort of custom case where the marble holes contain a bright LED light for backlighting. That would be fantastic!

Back in the day, Big John Ives had whole tables with such back lighting to display his Cairo marbles.

Agates are and were true killers.

I love -em.

Marble--On!!

True that!

I think taking a short video showing how light reflects on the facets, or rolling it to show wobbles might be a good way to show the facets? Stills don’t show much unless it is a large facet.

Not marbles, but I wanted to share just a few of the raw agates that I have dug. Some I find out in the "wild", and others just from garnering permission to search private landscaping.

Would love to one day have a good portion of my hand dug collection made into marbles 😊

@William Hey buddy, all you need is a good stone chisel and a grinding wheel. 😁

I would need time, good hands, patience and skill among other things also lol....the first one I never seem to have much of very often...the next 2 are getting poorer every day (🤣), and the last one, I would honestly prefer someone that has done it for a while. Don't think I could stand it if I busted one of them myself while working on em lol...

Here's a couple of better macro shots.

Nice shots bumblebee.

I recieved one earlier this year which you could feel the facets quite clearly--even with my sausage fingers with gardening thick skin.

I tried to get a good image and failed--miserably.

Marble--On!!
