  1. I think the 1st is Peltier but I think the second might be an imposter (Vacor), and I am leaning Akro on the 3rd marble. The 4th is a little puzzling - not American though, IMO.
  2. You have no idea how fortunate I feel to have friends who would actually invite me!
  3. I really like Alleys but Ravenswoods are my favorites. It looks like you've got some nice ones!
  4. One of the best times I have ever had . . . Alley Agate, Pennsboro, WV. I'm the person who's not Ron or Nola. 🙂 Shout-out to Bill for taking the pic! Some of the spoils. A couple of days I will never forget!
  5. Nice, Gladys! There are few things I like better than piles of WV swirls.
  6. Heck man, AV, no AV, whatever . . . that's a really nice marble!
  7. Kokomos are mentioned with a few pics in some of the marble books but the best pics and info you will find is probably on the marble boards. The fact is that Kokos are very rare compared to Peltiers and I don't think they were widely distributed either, so I wouldn't expect to find many, if any, by chance, even if you're looking through a random pile of 100,000 pelts. Although, you could get lucky and find a small cache in a lot or something - they are out there. I am in Indiana and I have found a small group in a large lot maybe 2-3 times over the past 20 years or so. Otherwise, It's a random marble here or there, if I'm lucky.
  8. Those are great marbles. I do like that salmon color. That transparent K&M is great too!
  9. Here we go. This is one of eight bags I purchased in a partially filled carton, and I am betting Charlie Stutsman put them together. A lot of the marbles are fractured - probably from freeze/thaw or just getting thrown around. And many of the patches look like seconds to me. I think quality control on the bags filled by Champion was probably better than this. It looks like these were filled using the cheapest marbles available, and some of the Champion swirls look like they were made in the 80s. Charlie sold these bags for about $10 each, which must have provided a very nice profit margin. In the bag Out of the bag Contents: Black Cat's Eyes Yellow Cat's Eyes White Cat's Eyes Swirls 1 2 3 4 5 Patches 1 2 3 4 Game Marbles Clearies
  10. I do like the transparent bases. This is one of my favorites.
  11. Thanks a lot for this, Ron. One of the things that bothers me about the OP marbles is the orange colored patches and almost stripe-like blue patches on many of them. It just doesn't seem like Vitro quality to me. Maybe they were seconds or something, but MK did make some similar double patch marbles, didn't they? Wasn't the "Pepsi Marble" a Marble King? Now I am going to open a bag or two so we can get a good look at the mibs. But I don't recall seeing any like the OP mibs in the bags.
  12. Just to add some perspective, those really are 3" Sammy's. I have been fortunate enough to see this board. It is probably about 30" round, and there is fitted storage for each of those 3" marbles in the base. The pics really don't do it justice. This is a beautifully crafted museum quality piece.
  13. Thanks Al, I have nine of these bags, none with a single type of marble, or any with even one marble like yours or the OPs, and I do not think any of them were filled by Champion for the bicentennial in 1976. (I'll try to come back with pics a bit later). Have you ever seen an original bag filled by Champion? I don't think I have. Maybe @wvrons or someone else has an authentic one to show.
  14. I have no idea what this might be called other than bifurcated. It is a Peltier, right? Spidermelon sounds like a Marble King name - cross between a Spiderman and a Watermelon?
  15. Very nice, Chad! They are pretty great - here's another, among friends.
  16. Good Morning, Chad, I thought I'd get it going just in case you decided to sleep in past 5:00 AM today! lol 🙂
  17. I recognize that beautiful display - one of the best ever! You'll get a workout playing solitaire on that board. I am looking forward to seeing you again soon too!
