  1. I should retake pics of this mib but . . . at least the blue tint and Moonie glow show pretty well.
  2. I'm a little jealous myself. Those are delicious looking calories!
  3. Sure have missed you around here, Steph.
  4. Ha, you're not Tommy! Sorry William.
  5. It's all about the colors on this one, Tommy. And if you look carefully, you'll find two seams too.

    Opinions?

I agree with Alley. The little nub is a feature usually found on dug mibs that got "spun by the nub" so to speak. Someone would have had to been asleep at the wheel for that to pass quality control, IMO.
  7. Nice - Sistersville Alleys are some of my favorite marbles! If you haven't already, you should check out this post. You might enjoy it.
  8. Yeah, shining a UV light on marbles can be all kinds of fun, and sometimes it can even help with ID. JABO made a Classic called a JABO Ghost - dullest marble ever until you put UV on it, then it lit up in a variety of colors. But as far as marbles go, a wise collector once told me, "if you need UV light or magnification to see it, it may as well not be there". lol
  9. I'll try to remember that for future reference - baby parrots from now on. That is a beautiful piece of glass! Do you believe I worked on a farm in Waupun in the summer of 1975? Small world? Well, it wasn't actually in town, which as I recall had one stop light and took about 1 minute to drive through back then. lol
  10. Thanks for the input, Ron. I had forgotten about the Alox bags!
  11. And these big ones have a lot of transparent glass . . . And they're all squeaky clean too.
  12. I am with you on this marble, Bruce. I like marbles with a lot of transparent glass the best!
  13. The big Vitros are cool, William, but I am really liking this one!
  14. This is a nice one . . . are there any Superman marbles you don't like? lol
  15. Nice marble, Art! Vitros and Masters are about the only patch style marbles I care much about, and this is a very nice example of a Parakeet, which I think is what the 5/8" parrot-type marbles are called. Here are a couple more . . . Although the left one has a little too much white showing for my tastes. ๐Ÿ™‚
  16. Last one for me today . . . The Sunday crossword is waiting.
  17. I recognized it as made from Vitrolite glass cullet. I recognize the marble too but I am having a senior moment and can't recall who made it. Maybe a few pics of different sides of the marble would jog my memory. It would be nice if you started a new topic with that marble because this thread is getting rather long and there are probably other people who might recognize it too.
  18. @Dave 13 I think some of the Chinese marbles are handmade and others may be hand gathered and machine rounded. They show lots of different types on the Alibaba website.
  19. Oddly enough, a yellow background will make the peach color show up better.
  20. In 3rd photo of your original post, the two marbles on the right are Alley and the yellow-based one next to them probably is too. And I'll bet the base glass on the far right marble in your 4th photo glows like nuts under UV light.
  21. Dang, it must have stuck out like a sore thumb!
  22. Hide the kids! It's an Akro gone wild!
