  1. Can you believe kids probably paid a nickel or a dime for that bag - check for AV in those green ones?
  2. And AV in a color other than a typical green . . .
  3. And whatever color these are . . . A Vitro and a Marble King that I probably should have cleaned first . . .
  4. Nice Rainbo, Dave - a less common color scheme, at least in my experience.
  5. That's a nice marble! And the crystal ornaments are great too.

    HTF?

Nice! Bigger ones are almost always less common than smaller ones. I'm not sure if 7/8" would be considered HTF but they're definitely much less common than 5/8".
  7. It looks like a big bubble might have had a thin flake of glass covering it. When the glass "cover" broke away, likely during early production, it left the "sharp" edges around the rim. If it popped when the glass was still hot the divot would have a smooth melted rim, IMO.
  8. I noticed that orange peel texture in the first pics. It's often associated with Vacor. But you also see it on some big old Akros, like Claudias and Jolly Rogers, where it adds an interesting dimension to the marble. It's usually considered a flaw that is associated with poorly made marbles (the big Akros are all dug, as far as I know, and the surface texture may be why they were discarded, but I actually like the effect on those marbles).
  9. Vitros this size are very uncommon, so I am going to go with Akro for these.
  10. The "boiling water" bubbles and the eyelashes are clues, for sure.
  11. They're pretty cool looking - foreign, I think, but not sure where they come from.
  12. It's pretty on the transparent blue base and the pattern is cool. It'd be interesting to know how they make these patterns, which are fairly common on newer Chinese marbles.
  13. Cool Mib, William, but I think it's Akro, or maybe Master - not Vitro.
  14. Blue and orange is a great color combo! This one looks like a Heaton to me.
  15. Definitely a nice Vitro Elite.
  16. Nice find, Tommy. Some of the peewees you're showing were commonly found in Rosenthal games like Jumpo Marblo and others.
  17. James Leighton was known for melted pontil marbles made in Navarre and Barberton, and other places in Ohio, in the late 1800s. Sometimes these types are simply referred to as Leighton's but based on pattern or color, a particular location can be sometimes be inferred. This green is usually associated with Barberton. Other types are commonly associated with Navarre.
  18. FWIW, 2 out of 4 of my No. 657 Double Lilly Planters show the same backwards letters . . .
  19. Sorta slaggy peewee with a faceted pontil and a little blow-out . . . 😄
