  1. Those are some fat Cats. I like them when they're over-stuffed.
  2. Thank you, Joep. I had seen that site before. Here is a side-by-side Google translation of the page (Dutch to English) for folks who may be interested. If I am not mistaken, Cees (@cvdv), the Author, is also in Holland and he posts here occasionally.
  3. This is very interesting Joep. Can you tell me where the story is from?
  4. In general for Cat's Eyes, those with more vanes and more colors are better. It's even better if different colored vanes cross-through one another. It looks like you might have an 8 or 9 vane on the left in your last pic.

    Euro Sparkler ?

Sparklers usually have filaments of different colored glass running pole to pole inside the marble. These look kind of like single-vane Cat's Eyes to me.

With the new pics, I am leaning even further toward Vitro.

It's different. It reminds me of some Santa Clauses I have seen - but the colors are different, of course.
  8. I agree, it looks mostly like an Akro, but I have not seen any other four colors like it so I have my doubts . . .
  9. Looks more like a swirl than a slag to me, but there's not much to go on, and I wouldn't want to stretch too far for an ID.
  10. They do not look American-made to me, Joep. Do you know if there are any reference works for machine-made marbles from European countries - even published in a language other than English? Do you know of any other machine-made marble collectors, or collector's clubs over there? It sure would be nice to find an expert on the subject.
  11. The first looks Akro, maybe Vitro. The next two are JABO, I think.
  12. Kinda hard to see. They look mostly Asian to me but . . . ?

That'd be a pretty crazy Pelt, at nearly an inch . . .
  14. This is exactly what I am thinking, Steph, and why I am hesitant to stretch too far to ID some as American-made.
  15. These look more like JABO Classics to me.
  16. I would guess Alley on the first and the third, even though the structure looks a little JABO. The second is a wacky patch that looks Akro to me.
  17. The first is likely Master (brushed patch) - maybe Akro. The second looks more Akro to me.
  18. A foreign, probably Asian, cat's eye.
  19. Hard to say from these pics, maybe a swirl with a twist.
  20. Good straight on shots of the seams helps with marbles like this but I am thinking Akro on this one.
  21. Looks like it might be a pinched (folded) Vitro.
  22. The second is a slag, the first looks a bit more like a swirl.
  23. In my experience, a good yellow puree is hard to find, not sure why though, maybe it's just me. And I think some 3/8" mibs were used in roll-on applicators back in the day.
  24. Ric

    Maybe Akro ?

Looks like some of the spiral is hiding in a fold.
  25. 3-6 look Vitro, 7 Akro and 8 Master or maybe Akro.
