  1. It makes sense to me. My usage may be somewhat archaic . . . like me.
  2. I like copper too, and I think this one is related to yours. The pics aren't great, it has a blue/green transparent base, but maybe it'll bring back some fond memories and help pass time while we're waiting for Ron to wake up from his nap. P.S. To Smitty, the purveyor of this fine marble . . . I wish you, your lovely wife and all of your kin, long, healthy and prosperous lives. Thank You!
  3. If I am not mistaken, it is particularly a target marble as opposed to a shooter.
  4. Another great marble, Don. Is that base glass a pale green transparent or am I seeing things?
  5. Nice Marble, Don. I've not seen another that color, and since it seems like it wouldn't have been the only one made, I've now got something else to look for. Thanks for showing it. I really like it!
  6. Hey Art, Were they HG or all machine? Did they show reverse twists or feathering? Any details? This inquiring mind wants to know . . .
  7. Cool marble, Mike. And Rich, you did a great job!
  8. Nice bunch there, Mike. P.S. Have you read your PMs lately? . . . hint . . . hint.
  9. There are some real nice mibs in there . . . you lucky duck!
  10. That is cool glass, Steve. My sis does stained glass windows and such. She'd be all over that stuff. I'll bet it's worth some $ to the right person. I know some of the glass she buys is pricey.
  11. You knew that was Barry? I never woulda guessed . . . LOL
  12. Isn't that . . . the Copa . . . Copa Cabana?
  13. Those are great. I'm keen on the single ribbons but that wild latt you pulled out is really cool!
  14. Winnie, I hope you don't mind my adding another to the thread. The pattern on this one is not as well organized, and being white and clear transparent it's really hard to photograph, but it looks Peltish to me. Anyone have any thoughts?
  15. Al's given good advice, as usual, so I will only add that if you haven't seen this thread http://marblemental.yuku.com/topic/388/Show-off-your-Cat-s-eyes#.Tlp9RF1yyi8 already, you'll likely find it enjoyable and enlightening.
  16. Nice marbles. I particularly like the Vitro with the yellow and green patches.
  17. I do believe marbles were used as prizes in cereal boxes during the mid - late 50s (maybe into the 60s). The tubes I've seen are cellophane. Most have Marble Kings or Vitros in them. Yours appear to be a mix and include some swirls. Nine marbles per pack seems to be more than I'm used to seeing too.
  18. Cool, I like the oddball stuff too! Here's a 1 1/8" triple . . . and a double with its' single . . .
  19. Nice marble, Winnie. The one I posted is just under 9/16". What size is this one?
  20. Yeah, Clyde, I screwed up big-time not getting a look at the marbles you brought. This is the type of slag I was referencing though. It's about 9/16" and I'd call it ice or baby blue There do seem to be some similarities in the pattern but the one I initially posted just doesn't strike me as a slag so . . . ??? And I'm pretty clueless when it comes to HGs anyway, especially if it's a less common type or an atypical one.
  21. I use a hosting service and am able to upload pics exactly the same way that I always have . . . just clean living I guess.
  22. Hi Al, It's just to the right of the emoticon button in the top toolbar. You can see it in Stephs post #30.
  23. I've gotta admit, Charles, The possibility of a machine-spun swirl crossed my mind too but it doesn't show irregularities on the surface like so many of those I've seen and the HG-look would be pretty remarkable for those too . It's a peculiar marble, for sure.
  24. I thought it was a little different but figured it might be the touch of clear transparent throwing me a bit. Regardless, it doesn't strike me as a slag. It's primarily white with color that appears to be on the surface. Although it does seem there is a little transparency in the red. Heck, I'll be even happier if it's a Pelt, and I have to admit that the first thing it reminded me of was those reverse-twist slags Galen has shown before. Any pics available of similar from Pelt? Here are a few more pics, and thanks for letting me know what you think. I don't know enough about the HG Pelts to even go there with any confidence.
  25. Rich, I think the point is that the probability this question can be answered with hard evidence, or beyond a reasonable doubt with circumstantial evidence, is near nil. So it is highly probable that it will be a useless conversation with respect to finding an answer to the original question.
