  1. Cool photo, Bob . . . kind of surreal.
  2. WOW! There have been some fine additions to this thread lately. Here's a glower . . .
  3. Mike's got the right words . . . "distinctive" and "sweet". Mighty fine work, Bill. I really like them. They are very appealing.
  4. I really do love this thread! Here's an odd thing . . . a ground-faceted pontil and a relatively large as-made something-or-another on a slag that is 31/64" at its largest diameter. Has anyone seen others like this? Is it from a piece of jewelry or something? Kinda wild . . .
  5. It's also interesting how reactivity will vary with the wavelength of your UV source - might be why Ann is finding "new" ones.
  6. Here's a Master I found recently. It looks like a well shaken snow globe. Kinda cool.
  7. Great marbles, Doc . . . that four color flame's a dandy!
  8. Nice board, Orbboy. For stone, I might think Lapis Lazuli from the pics. But a couple almost look like they might have "salt glaze" spots on them. What info was given to you? P.S. Perhaps Northern Africa or even Egypt?
  9. Very nice, indeed. I really do like 'em all. But #2587's at the top of my list . . . too cool!
  10. I agree with Mark . . . a Rebel variant - not golden.
  11. Pretty funny there, Rich. And a cool looking union it is.
  12. Cool, Rich. Did you make that one?
  13. Greatmacscott indeed . . . Very cool! Congrats!
  14. Cool, Steve - Thanks for the heads-up!
  15. Cool . . . marbles to sort . . . the more the merrier! Have fun, and good luck with that surgery.
  16. Thanks again, Galen. I kinda figured those might be Japanese Transitionals, although I had no idea they could get to 1". Your remarks on the feathery one make good sense to me too. I'll do my best to get that one in your hands in Canton - it'd be nice to finally meet you.
  17. Yeah . . . Have a great Birthday! And hope to see ya' soon . . . you're not too old to remember that the show is this Saturday . . . right? lol
  18. And then there are these . . . The smallest is a shade over 1/2" and the largest is 19/32". Some are out-of-round. They are hand-gathered but I don't know if they are entirely hand-made or transitionals, and whether they are showing pontils or cut-offs. If anyone has any information on these I would appreciate hearing it. And if anyone else has examples of slags with prominent seams or cutoffs, please show them. Thanks
  19. Yes, aventurine. Sorry about that - I apparently misunderstood your wording.
  20. I would say condition, AV not apparent in the pics, and too high of a starting bid.
  21. Thanks, Galen. If you can enlarge the last pics I posted of it, you might get a better feel for the construction. Those feathery white wisps sure look to be "coiled" like a hand-gather pattern, could just be luck though, I guess. I was actually thinking it might be a HG CAC. Any probability of that? Here's a couple with two seams . . .
  22. Just a purty 3/4" . . .
