  1. Don, I suppose I should have asked, "which company do you think made them"? I figured they were vintage machine marbles. Is there a black or (dark) red streak in the orange stripe on some, or just thinner orange with base showing through that looks darker in the pics?
  2. Wow, that orange is intensely bright. It sorta makes the base hard to discern in the pics. Where did you find those? Who are you thinking made them?
  3. There's just no substitute for sunlight . . . neat pics, Mike.
  4. Hmmmm . . . http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARBLES-CHRISTENSEN-SUBMARINE-TYPE-CORAL-RIBBON-MINT-/370535866554?pt=Marbles&hash=item5645a8a0ba Not one of my guesses . . . any CA collectors have thoughts on these?
  5. What are the most uncommon? Please show them if you can.
  6. Even nicer in hand. The interesting thing is the way the two color stripes hang together inside the marble - pretty good glass mixing.
  7. Jill Marie, You have to be a little careful focusing only on the "turkey head". I've seen old Alleys that show pretty nice ones.
  8. That's a cool marble too, Winnie. I like the colors. I've been putting these types back for a long time, and I think I've narrowed it down . . . I'm pretty sure they're either Ravions or Champenwoods.
  9. Those are nice looking, Duffy. I like the size too.
  10. Thanks for the thought, Dustin. Now there are some marbles I know almost nothing about. I'm betting you have a reason for suggesting Czech origins. Could you fill me in on what you're seeing? Any links?
  11. That's a nice color combo, for sure. One of my favorites . . .
  12. Winnie, The only idea I have for sure is that it's related to this one.
  13. I wonder if the diggers just had a bias towards halves . . . pitch the shards and keep the halves or larger cullet samples?
  14. Nice marbles. I like the white tracers . . .
  15. Those are cool marbles, Winnie. I can see a resemblance, but the Paul Bunyan's colors are rather limited and the colors on those you posted are distinct enough that, hopefully, one can tell the difference.
  16. That looks like a Paul Bunyan to me, Winnie. And I'd like to see the similar ones you've found there.
  17. It is attractive. That yellow really stands out on the gray base. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more pics. I think Cas = Christensen Agates
  18. Very nice. It does look kind of CA but I wouldn't be able to rule Alley out from the pictures. I'd want to see it in hand.
  19. It makes sense to me. My usage may be somewhat archaic . . . like me.
  20. I like copper too, and I think this one is related to yours. The pics aren't great, it has a blue/green transparent base, but maybe it'll bring back some fond memories and help pass time while we're waiting for Ron to wake up from his nap. P.S. To Smitty, the purveyor of this fine marble . . . I wish you, your lovely wife and all of your kin, long, healthy and prosperous lives. Thank You!
