  1. Nice Alley, Al. I'm not sure I'd call it a coral though. I refer to those as Bacon Strip Swirls. lol.
  2. Sorry Steph, I should have said . . . probably not the best pic - it's pretty typical for Alley.
  3. Here you go, Steph. Probably not the best example - but handy.
  4. Too funny, Lou. What's it take for a Basset Hound to bottom out - a few inches? lol. When I was a kid one of my responsibilities at my first paying job (65 cents / hour) was to care for Claudia - the original Hush Puppy dog - no kiddin' - I love Basset Hounds. Alan, those are some beautiful pics. I haven't seen that much snow for a long while - thankfully. It looks like even the Great Danes are bottoming out in you neighborhood! And frosticles . . . ouch - poor pupper.
  5. I agree for the most part, David. But as for, "Just another person who doesn't know what he has . . .", I'm sure you realize, good or bad, it's marketing - you can earn a Ph.D. in it. Many of these folks see the difference between "may have" and "has" as the difference between the truth and a lie - especially if they know the most honest statement is "most likely does not have". Marketing abounds in our society. Consumer education is the only answer. It's a hot button for me . . .sorry to have drifted so far from the posted topic.
  6. Dang, Pop . . . you mean like a Cray XT5? Kinda overkill don't you think? Sorry man - I just couldn't help myself.
  7. Happy Birthday Griff - I hope you have a great one!
  8. Hey Steve . . . missed your birthday . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope ya had a great one! :happy-857:
  9. It was my understanding that Champion purposefully filled the Bicentennial Bags with marbles from several WV companies, and I think Heaton and MK cats are not uncommon in those bags. I also thought that Champion never manufactured cat's eyes. Are the ones you dug there distinctly different from other manufacturer's cat's eyes or could they just be remnants of those Champion obtained from other companies?
  10. Nice marble, Dani. The colors I see look pretty close to me. Although, I would expect to see a lighter brown color swirled into the base too. Is there any on the other side?
  11. Sweet marbles, Greg - I'm lovin' the Chrissie's in that first pic! And I got THE ORIGINAL Griff Triangle Case. Maybe not quite as purdy as some of his newer ones but it's mighty special to me . . . a keeper for sure! THANKS GRIFF!
  12. Thanks Paula, That's my take too . . . so maybe I'm not completely crazy.
  13. Wow . . . kinda cool Gregg - real-time reporting from MNN . . . The Marble News Network. I guess that sorta makes you the Anchor Man. LOL. Thanks - I'm looking forward to seeing y'all Friday afternoon.
  14. Thanks again, Rick, it's not really brown, looks a bit more like a blackish contaminant, and there's a fine streak of yellow slightly separated from the main patch there too, where the base glass shows through a bit, which adds to that appearance . . . I think. And thanks to you too, Jim. I agree that the Victory base should be bubble-free. And I had always thought Pelt made this type - I don't think I've ever seen similar attributed to Kokomo, but it wouldn't surprise me too much, and I am in Indiana so . . .?
  15. Frankly, I find the level of sexist rhetoric in this thread reprehensible . . . I mean, hey . . . Cub Scouts did arts and crafts too! LOL.
  16. Hey Rick, Oddly enough, none of mine glow. But maybe I'm biasing the result, since I have the free-form patches with real bubbly bases in with my Pelts - thinking that the base on Victories is bubble-free. Do your Victories have bubbly bases like the ones I show? Am I sorting these correctly? Thanks.
  17. Thanks Steph, I think these are all Pelt too . . . but that pic in P.A.M. has me scratching my head . . . have you seen it? I always thought similar Vitros (Victories) had a bubble-free base. And the base on the two glowers does indeed have a light green tint. I also have others that don't glow, and the base is not tinted on those. -Ric
  18. Can anyone tell me how common it is for this type to glow? Thanks.
  19. That's what I was thinking too - but need pics, for sure.
