I have no doubt that this bag is old. Champion filled a lot of Penny King poly bags. I have a couple of the 20-count bags but had not seen a 40-count like this before. I think Champion probably labeled too many bags for a Penny King order, or came up with too many in some other way, and just put their own header over the first label for another customer.

I picked up a nice Champion poly bag at the Iowa show. As you can see, it had two headers applied. I carefully opened the outer staples so I could get a look at the bottom label . . . . . . not too surprising.

Those are cool, Dave. It seems you've found some interesting stuff. All the trade beads I am familiar with are drilled all the way through. These seem pretty large for beads too but . . .? -
Cool black stripe, Galen. The green on a red face is cool too. In my experience, helmets with a stripe other than red or orange are less common - yellow on a green face seems to be one of the more common of them.

I agree that the big ones and multicolored ones are harder to find. I also think that the "pinchers" or Mt. Fuji's are distinct from the Wales marbles but . . .? These are as found in a tin-litho Whitman chinese checkers game.

Nice group - thanks for posting them. When you say pink base, are you referring to transparent base glass . . . maybe the color some refer to as peach? I have several of those. In my experience, they are not as uncommon as ones with brick/blood stripes. I only have a couple of those. They are all kept with my Vitros.

Continental Europe is believed to be the origin of the marbles referred to as Spotted Dicks, some of which may be dark brown with white spots. Does anyone have any information or pictures of such marbles?

I was hoping you'd see this one, Clyde. Thanks for the confirmation. I had a feeling I'd seen or heard of a metallic bruiser before. How common/uncommon are they - any ideas?

Sorry about all the reflections . . . it's about 5/8". The base is dark green transparent that looks black in normal light. The blue patch has a metal ribbon in it and wanders sort of like a script Vitro "V". It reminds me a lot of a Bruiser but . . . ? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm with Steph, I think it's a Conqueror variant. I have a few with that brown patch. In my experience they are less common than other colors.

I agree with BJ . . . It looks like something from The American Marble & Toy Manufacturing Co. - kind of a spongeware pattern, I think.

Interesting for sure. A few look hand gathered. A few look like typical German handmades. I think even a good cleaning would help. Hmmmm . . .

I think the grid is part of a light diffuser often used with recessed fluorescent lighting. You can pick it up at most home improvement stores.
