  2. This was a restaurant small chain in Arizona. Now closed. There are several items available out there as walkaways from restaurant. The large pot which held drinks, ashtrays and matchbooks. Maybe menus? Don
  3. An Akro #300 box Mike? I have had a lot of super buys, probably best buy was a $10 lot of marbles with a Blue Galaxy... Don
  4. Sad news indeed. Jack did like his cats, a few years back when he first got on internet I struck up a conversation with him and sent him some catseyes right at Christmas time... he really got excited about cats after that! A while later he sent me soem peewee Marble King cats and shooters which I still have all together and some of Lindas tumbled glass. Loved to fish also... we will miss you Jack. Don
  5. I will tell you where there were piles of these - Chemistry laboratories... these same type of tools were what held flasks etc you were heating in the old days... I know I saw many.. Chemist Don... hah
  6. My personal opinion - the store about Berry Pinks being given away by Berry Pink was made up to help sell these marbles as they were probably made after Berry's days ... maybe Gerald Witcher has a view point on that? Don
  7. They sure don't show up - I have a few...
  8. Yes this is one of my favorites - I have a copy framed that I found at an antique mal near old Columbus show when I attended that I bought for $3 - you talk about excited. Since then have picked up another. Don

  11. A few years back I bought a set of 21 of these large clays (Akrons?) and two homemade target boxes into which you could roll the balls.Still have 18 of clays as a fellow collector wanted one of each for his collection. Paid a princley sum of less than $20 as I recall on a last minute Ebay auction. Don
  12. I agree with Al that age of these metallic sheen Allreds are 1980s based on many collections I have bought over the years. The veneering effect by this time was well perfected by Vitro to cut costs. Don
  13. My opinion just a faded tin top. I have had a number of of these - they do have different shades of blue to blue green from manufacturing differences as they were probably made in different batches for several years . I wonder who made them for Akro? Be nice to have some more made for newer marbles although would be expensive.. Don
  14. When I first started collecting in 1990s , the "wasp" was also called a "Black Widow".. The terms were both used for same marble. Don
  15. I know I have seen at auction at least one marked "Ing-Rich" like these so Steph you are probably right. I looked to see if I had saved a picture but didn't find it. I found a lemondae Porcelfrit a long time ago, only one I have. Don
  16. Got this off Ebay this week to partner with one I got a couple years ago. A 1930s marbles cellophane package. This one had clearies and was very reasonable price :-) Don Here is one I got a couple years ago...
  17. Al: I have sold one in that size for as low as $35 on Ebay . Prices may be a little higher but not in the range Galen quoted. My guess is $60-75. Don
  18. There is somebody (not me) out there working on a serious book on this subject and is writing a book. Should see in a year or two... It takes a while. Don
  19. My guess is ad was made in New York offices of Berry Pink and he just used whatever bulk marbles he had laying in office to mock up bag.. Don
