  3. Nice group of Alley Shooters but I doubt the bag was sold witht he marbles, these came in small boxes and bags, primarily bags I imagine. The bga looks like those sold with fishing reels etc. Don

  5. And to wet your whistle - here is an early catseye marble - a 1930s master made sunburst type. Don
  6. Rich: Your catseye marble looks like a Master made catseye - kind of hard to find. The following box pictures came out of one buy I made off Ebay in late 1990s. And they helped me to meet a neat marbles friend later on. Don
  7. Somebody out there is sitting on about 10 alley or champion swirls with copper metallic striping that I sold 10 years ago when I first got on Ebay. I didn't collect them and of all the thousands of marbles I have sold are part of a very few that I wish I had never sold. I haven't seen them show up since and unfortunately I did not keep pictures of them. Anybody got anything like that? Don
  8. Yep I was backup bidder....Good buy. Only way I have seen shooters so far was as part of a packaged kaleidoscope and as a shooter in bags. Don
  9. Since nobody would come up with one I am passing on a strange thing that happened to me. I won a solitaire set from England some time ago on Ebay. Had 33 bullet mold handmade clearies like in CODD bottles. About three weeks later shows up, wrapped only in wrapping paper with a tear and three marbles are missing. These things were shipped by boats so I figured the marbles were on boat or somewhere in between forever lost. However the next day the postman shows up and has the three marbles in hand, had found in his truck. Fortunately he had chatted with wife about what was in small packages and was told marbles and had since that time been teasing her about rattling marbles. Since he knew we got marbles in packages he figured they were ours. Nice set in pictures attached! Don
  10. I have found the ballot marbles wiht opaque and cloudy/clear white marbles in same batch before. Don
  11. These look like came out of an Akro Ringer box - good find. Don
  12. May have been a jewelry store name or firm that distributed the tray. I thinbk Ihave one that has a silver label on back for a jewelry or clothing store. Don
  13. Neat Peltier - I bought one of the cube boxes of Pletiers recently and it contained some odd colored examples - the best was a 11/16 th inch shooter. Don
  14. You don't often find these - ones I have came from one single large stock box from an old crafts store that was sold years ago on Ebay and from several old games. I am not sure if I have ever seen in the many groups of marbles I have bought over the years. Don
  15. I agree - after I posted I almost said Japanese possibility because I had seen similar boxes. makes you wonder why we did not see a lot in US of these marbles? At;least haven't seen in the many lots of old machine mades I have bought. Just a couple in quantity that came from Canada. Don
  16. No around 9/16 to 19/32 inch size. Don
  17. Probably German but show up in Canadian lots, like thye were not distributed in U.S. I have found soem that appear to be made in 1930s based on everything else in lot was that old and others that appear to be later that are smaller in size. Don

  20. I have seen a couple of these in past, had electric cords and lighter assembly and a base glaas part made of same glass that lighter sat on . Beleive were made by Houze and not Akro Agate but my expertise is not in this area. Just something I believe I read in past. Don
