  1. Most of them are on thier second listing so I guess nobody has been fooled by them so far. I agree there is something weird about them.
  2. Pretty neat little marble for being 15/32"
  3. Looks like you nailed it Steph. Light weight wood marbles make more sense than glass Micas if your going to be wacking them around.
  4. Could be missing something? The lady who was selling it knew nothing about it. Even numbers are blue holes and odd are red if that helps?
  5. Any ideas of what this game is? Came with a small bag of marbles but the 12 peewee micas seemed to fit the best? Any info would be great. Thanks.
  6. Nice thick Aventurine in this one. Measures 1 1/16" with some funky roll lines.
  7. Marble on Earni. Hope you have a great one. Dave
  8. LOL I have no doubt there are car boots today so I'll rephrase it. I aint pulling my ass out of bed this morning since it is a bank holiday. I slept in until 9:30 today. Did not know someone was still making these. Here is a pic of Berkley. Sadly both the castle proper and the butterfly house were closed off for the day due to a street party or some such. It's only 1/2 hour away so I plan to go back to get a better look at it. I like butterflies.
  9. Nope Al this was a car boot find for £6.00 the other day. There always seems to be a collectors show or a car boot going in this country. My nutter of a dad drags me out of bed at 4 am to drive a couple of hours to get to one by 6 am pretty much every day now he can get out and deal again. This is a nice old one, but I don't know how far back they go. The handmade came with it but has a big crack in it. It does have a nice faceted pontil but that means nothing when it comes to the age of the gizmo. No car boots today since it is a bank holiday. The show at Berkley castle this morning was a bust.
  10. Casters does make more sense if trade beads are drilled right through. Another suggestion from one of my Dads dealer friends over here was part of a clock or desk set. One of the holes to attach it to the base and the other hole supported a fancy cap top. All still unfounded though and just a guess from him. I have only been here at this house where all the marbles are for just under 2 weeks. We have been jammed in a little flat in London we rented to be closer to the hospital. Driving 2 1/2 hours to London every other day seemed impractical when gas is 1.38 pounds per liter. So neat things are still coming out. I am about 3/4 of the way into the machinemades now. If anyone needs 30 lbs of Catseyes and common modern stuff let me know haha. The amount of German Sparklers so far is pretty impressive. The small amount of Transitionals so far is a little surprising. Good thing I taught my Mum long ago what handmades looked like so she was real good a seeting those aside and needed very little sorting. More neat stuff to come
  11. I found that backing away from the marble quite a bit helps to show truer colours, but you lose the detail. Try a few shots from 10' away and see if that helps. Natural sunlight helps as well.
  12. Here are some pics. Green one is 1" and the blue one is around 7/8" or a tad bigger. Thanks for any info.
  13. There were a couple of bigger size Handmades at the bottom of a box that have holes drilled on both ends. Thing is the holes do not go all the way through the marble. Each only seems to go in about 1/4 of the way through. Were Trade Beads drilled right the way through so they could be strung? Or could there have been some sort of do-hickey that would have attached inside of the holes that are there? Pics coming.
  14. I thought they were pretty weird as well. They are a good size with the biggest brown one checking in at a hair under 1" and the biggest white one is pretty much dead on 1". No idea what they are worth but I will list a couple up on the Bay when I get home. Where the heck is Scott? We need our non glass handmade pro back.
  15. You bunch of jokers haha. Figured out the picture thing so here some are. Thanks guys.
  16. Found a couple of Spotted Dicks the other day as well as some that are a dark brown with white spots? Anyone heard of those or seen any before? They are a first for me. Any info would be great.
  17. Hey good thinking Al. I guess that's exactly what they could be. Makes a bit more sense than those Mexican ones. I was going by the ugly bumpy looking picture.
  18. I wonder if those "Spangled Allies" are like the more modern Vacor ones. When I see those spotted ones here I generally pass them over. Should I be looking closer? It also might explain why I see them mixed in older lots from time to time?
  19. That's bloody fantastic!!! Gimme.
  20. Well worth a mortgage payment anyday. That is one fantastic score. Any Aventurine in any of them?
