  1. This one is growing on me more every minute. It's the new, June 4, 2009 Jabo Ultra run. Burt P.S. I understand that in my haste to post this picture, I grabbed 3 marbles from my pocket that were given to me during the Ultra run, that are actually from Smitty's Foxfire run. They are No. 1 in the top row, and No. 1 & 3 in the second row from the top. Smitty, I apologize. Please note the beauty of Smitty's marbles. My mistake was purely that, a dumb mistake. All the marbles in this picture are getting along with each other quite well. Burt
  2. Great job, Smitty and gang. Hard to top is right!! Burt

    Wash Out Marbles

Here are a few from the Jabo Joker II tank wash. Burt
  4. I think Steve meant to say, "I hope every marble is better than the 'last'". If a marble is better than the "next", that means each new marble is worse than the last. Just a thought. I know he didn't mean that and that he is deeply pleased that the Joker II Encore Run is so nice. Thank you for your support, Steve. Burt
  5. I want to apologize for using the word "Tribute" above. I was not attempting to steal the word from another run. My intention was to indicate that we had made this run in "honor" of Dave McCullough, and I used the word to help express that thought. I was unaware that that word was reserved for independent usage only. I am very sorry. Now for something pleasantly surprising. I just opened another box and here's what I found. Thanks all, for your kind remarks. Burt
  6. Here is a very random, uncleaned, ungraded sampling from a few of the groups. More later. Burt
  7. Thanks Bocci, We are very pleased with this Dave McCullough Tribute run. Just returned so here is a quick picture of the Box. I will post sample pictures of the marbles as soon as I can pull some out of the boxes. Dave has personally signed each box. Private sales only. No ebay listings. Interested? Contact Rick Hall, Ed Parsons, Burt Wilkins, or Al Sumner. Limited to a total of 100 boxes. Burt
  8. There have been a couple of times when Jabo, Inc. believed a given special run would be the last run. Any rumors you heard were true at the time. However, things change and we are pleased that more runs will potentially be added. It is thrilling to be part of a special run. I look forward to those runs that I will be part of. Burt
  9. I guess it depends on which service you are using. My listings never exceed $5.00 and are normally $.50 before the final fees. Just a thought. Burt
  10. I am loving the results of all of these Special Jabo Experimental Runs. I have attended several of the runs and have met great people and, from my perspective, consider them all friends for life. I am too old to create or harbor ill feelings, and refuse to even think about it. I don't suppose I will ever recover my dollar investments, but my time investments have already been rewarded with the joys of friendships, experience, and lots of fun. Since I have been referenced earlier, I accept the right to repeat the following: "There's so much good in the worst of us, And so much bad in the best of us, That it makes no sense for any of us To find fault with the rest of us." I am going to go on enjoying this great hobby, even if the day comes when I am the only collector left. But as long as there are at least two of us, I do my best to make it work. Burt
  11. I have followed all of the Jabo Experimental Special Runs and all of them have introduced some beauties. I have several examples and love them all. This new 2009 Jabo Joker II run (April 2&3) is absolutely outstanding and IMHO equals or even surpasses the Jabo Joker I run. Get some, I think you will be pleased. Burt 009__J.J._II__3a.jpg]
  12. The Brick makes me proud of the Jabo Joker Fall Harvest marbles. Looks just like one. Just a thought. 13/16" is over 3/4", not under. Interesting listings.
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAVE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESSES AND FRIENDSHIP. BURT
  14. oldmarblenut's dark warnings are now clearly registered in our minds. I have lots of the Jabo Jokers, Marleys, and Tribute To Friendship marbles. Though many fracture during the first day or two, my experience has been that very few, if any, have fractured after that. However, if I ever hear that any I have sent to others have fractured, I will gladly replace them. I am sure I express the sentiments of many others as well. I hope we can get on with buying, selling, collecting, and enjoying them. I have friends who gladly promote them and friends who don't. They are just marbles. The comments of a "professional glass worker" are appreciated. We will keep our eyes open. I appreciate being part of this short lived adventure. Soon it will all be over, so I will enjoy it while it lasts. Burt
  15. If MK, then quite new. Not vintage. IMHO. Burt
  16. a few less-common colors. Burt
  17. Here are a few. Some of these are more common and some are less common. I do not know the ratios. Burt
  18. Here are some examples of the Fall Harvest run. Burt
