Wait! You said shooter? What size? The closer a vintage swirl gets to one inch, the closer it gets to being a slam dunk Alley.

It's what is known as a West Virginia Swirl. That much is for sure. But there were about ten companies in West Virginia making swirls, including the Alley Agate company. (Ron would know the exact number. I haven't counted them up in awhile.) So it can be tricky to know which of the swirl companies made it. I think "good chance Alley" but that's the best I would be able to do even with more pictures. Others are better at swirls than I am!

You are correct about some of them being moss agates. The top marble is a Peltier Rainbo. The second marble is a clearie. Then you have three moss agates. Then the swirl with the aqua ribbons might be an Alley. And the last marble is technically another moss agate. That's what Akro called it. But modern collectors might call it a blue eggyolk.

We had a buy/sell/trade forum but it wasn't being used so we got rid of it. A couple of people who were liquidating their whole collections posted them in this general chat area. But if there is interest in renewing the trade forum .... Jason? @bumblebee What are your thoughts?

I'm going to call that a good deal no matter what it is or who made it or when. It is a beautiful piece.

Stone is different from china and stoneware. China and stoneware are types of ceramic. Not actually stone.

Very pretty. The clarity of the glass in the second makes it look Akro to me but it's not fitting any definite pattern in my head, so I'll watch with interest.

It is gorgeous and new to me. Is it stone? That's what it looks like on my monitor. 2.165 inches is nice size for a conversation piece.

Sweeeeeeeeet!!!! Way to stay on your toes! We caught a few sales last weekend, but no marbles until I got to the antique mall. That's not very wild. But it was better than nothing. Here was my take from last Saturday. At least most of the cat's eyes were cross-throughs.

Another installment in the series of "you might be a marble collector if everything in the world looks like marbles to you!" It took me a couple of seconds before I realized I was looking at a bowl of fruit and not marbles!

On the big ones with the ox, I'll say Akro. Not JUST because they have ox. But that helps. With all the colors involved, including the brown, I am mildly concerned someone might say they're a Jabo contract run. But I'll hold out for vintage and will say Akro.

I agree with Vacor on that iridescent one. This one also has a strong Vacor feel to it. I think Vacor Old Fashion:
