  1. Snow will make my nieces and nephews happy! Sorry for your 5 hour drive for nothing.
  2. Some of his look more crackly than others, if that's one of the differences you're thinking of.
  3. Really good chance of Champion on that one.
  4. They don't look Akro. The Akro Moonie ia expected to have orange glow coming from inside when you backlight it (or when you look through it with a light source behind it). Do you have that? It's not coming through in the photos. The light bluish one on the right of the grouping of six looks like it might be a swirl, so we might have Champion. Check for Master-like cut lines on some of the others. More interesting to me than Akro Moonie is the Master Cloudy. Those are harder to find and ID.
  5. Yeah, hard to guess. If it has seams that could be a little clue. But that's in the "clearies" or "game marbles" category, where a lot of companies could have made them.
  6. Exactly! Hey .... lookit! http://marbleconnection.com/topic/15451-decatur-il-marble-show-anyone-go/?tab=comments#comment-132724 From 2011 ... so it's not a very recent name game thing. "Chocolate Hermaphrodite: Blue, orange/pink, NLR with adventurine, chocolate base."
  7. That's one of the most hideous beautiful marbles I've seen in a long time. I see all NLR ... but I don't see how they could have meant to do that. Something went wrong with the base glass, doncha think?
  8. Canon seems to think it ought to take good close-up photos. My Canon isn't an elph, but it does okay. Before I got my camera, I was given the advice to take practice marble shots with whatever camera I was thinking of buying. I didn't follow the advice. My main complaint with my Canon is that when I take flash photos I get rings of white dots on the marbles. There are some on the photo below. The model I'm using is PowerShot SX170 IS.
  9. It's a beautiful day! Cold and windy actually -- but there's sunlight for my brand new DAS Comanche Moon marbles. (Made on February 14.) They have some gentle UV glow -- not easy to picture, but it probably kicked the sunlight photos up a notch. So much color ... how do you choose who gets a close-up? The pretty pink is reminding me I still have to learn more about how to use my camera -- because it's really a pretty lavender in hand. . Got some lutz The ox on clear are called the Comanche Moon Cobra
  10. Oh, John. That is very sad. What a hard decision to have to make.
  11. Maybe I can finally find someone who can make meatloaf like my mother did. Why oh why can't I remember the recipe?

    Wet mint

Bahaha! My york peppermint patty was a little sticky tonight.
  13. Freaky. I love it. But I have no idea what to think about it.
  14. My guess is awesome Alley.
  15. Never thought of that. Something else to look for. Thank you for sharing.
  16. Iridescence is one of the signs of a modern marble. I don't know if it is Asian or Mexican. But surely modern.
  17. Hi. Welcome. The 2nd looks definitely new to me. I'm leaning new on the clear-based one also. It looks like Vacor de Mexico to me. The reason I leave the door open for doubt here is that I do not recognize the color combination.
