  1. The colors, the swirliness (including the non-cork-like intersection of red and yellow in the third view, and how the red and yellow are connected in the first view.
  2. Hi there. #1 _might_ be Peltier. Also might be Marble King. Need a better idea of how many ribbons there are and how they connect at the seams. #2 is tricky. I'll go Master or Imperial. #3, the first view looks to have a nice tail in it. So I'm figuring the 2nd view is a "nine", rather than a turkey head. I'm going to say M.F. Christensen slag, rather than Christensen Agate. #4. In spite of your sureness that this was with an old group, it looks totally Jabo to me. #5. So that red ribbon corks around the marble? More views could help but I'm leaning Akro for now based on the peek at the seam in the first view.
  3. Start your wishlist now! Feel free to get me one of these.
  4. Hot cocoa with a hot tea chaser. It's chilly here.

Peltier Rainbo. What's it look like when not backlighting it? If it looks sorta solid brown/tan before you light it up, then the collector's name for this one is a "Muddy".

It is beautiful and interesting and I don't know what it is. The bubbles and seam are kinda Pelty. The wispy flirty ribbons are more like Master. Vitro? PelVitSter?
  7. Wow! New on me! Maybe a Pier 1 Import kinda of novelty offering from the 70's? We did use to get some fun items there. Nice find, whatever it is.
  8. The brightness and apparent slickness of the blue threw me off early on, but it has that pelt flip flop in the white and yellow ribbons. So unless someone comes up with some other maker with that flip flop and a closer match on the base, I'm planting my flag firmly there.
  9. I'm thinking of it as a Type 4 Tiger Eye. ...... oooorrrrrrr from an earlier "Shooter" package.
  10. The patches are kinda wonky, aren't they. But strange things can happen with the larger sizes. I'd keep it with my Vitros.
  11. Not Christensen. One of the West Virginia swirl companies. Alley or Ravenswood.
  12. Hey, I got that patent page in the mail last week. It was used as wrapping for some photos from George. I wonder if he knew I needed it!
  13. That "rainbo sunset" kinda looks like it has a blue ribbon, with a white base. Your marble has the typical Pelt "flip flop" so that's where I am for now. Note to self: Ooops, my pelt flip flop thread has photobucket pix in it. Those could disappear anytime. So I better switch 'em out. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o151/modularforms/Peltier/PeltFlipFlop001_Marblealan.jpg
  14. Something bugs me, also. If the blue we're seeing is a transparent blue base glass with no color layered on top, then that's not a standard Tiger Eye style. Ya know ... it could be a Peltier Rainbo pattern.
  15. Clicking through a couple or three times to get the bigger version of the picture .... Left to right Top row: #1 Vacor. I think Vacor on #2 also, and maybe #4. #3 might be a modern Marble King. More views could tell. Row #2: #1 ... there's an Alley which looks like that, and their a Vacor which looks like that. #2. Vacor. #3 Vacor. #4 I think Vacor. Row #3. #1 ... pretty sure Vacor. #2 ... old handmade. #3 ... more views would be good -- could be a Jabo. #4 ... could be a WV swirl (Alley) or could be modern.
  16. Clicking on that a couple of times to make it a little bigger ...... Left to right Top row: #1 might be a Vacor ... there _are_ older styles which look like that also, but i'm leaning Vacor. #2 needs more views. #3 ... hard to tell with the red and white swirl ... could be old, could be new. #4 is a Vacor. Row 2: Vacor on #1. Not sure on #2. #3 could turn out to be an older marble -- an Alley -- but I suspect it is modern. More views could help. Not sure on #4 -- leaning modern. Row 3: #1 is modern, but i'm not placing the maker right now. #2 is an old German handmade. I think a latticinio again. #3 ... not sure. #4 not sure, leaning modern.
  17. Yes, some nice flame action. Alley.
