  1. Pelt Rainbos on top. I'll go Vitro on the bottom middle. Is the bottom right swirly or patchy? I can't make that out. More views would be good. Not sure what the bottom left could be ... the coloring and structure aren't clicking for me with any particular maker.
  2. If you look at the marbles that people are calling Ringers, usually they won't have a crystal clear base ... at least not entirely. They're gonna have some of the moss base inside, but they might have some amount of clear, because these moss corks had more going on than basic moss patches did. But they're still mosses.

    Cat

This would be an Asian cat's eye ... with what appears to be accidental oxblood ... a byproduct of the coppery chemical used to make that shade of blue .
  4. When Akro made that one, they called it a Moss Agate. Nowadays, many collectors are resistant to using "Moss Agate" for anything but patches. But Akro called them Moss Agates and was very proud of them. One of Akros most expensive marbles. Some of those resistant collectors will call yours a Ringer. But Akro didn't make marbles called Ringers. They had a box, with the Ringer name on it, but that's because of the game called Ringer.
  5. Yeah, one of your Vitro hybrids. If you ever find one one with six ribbons, three of one color on one side and three of another color on the other, with sparkles in the ribbons in other colors than green ... let me know. Found those once ... and sold them ... and never seen any since.

    Mib ID

1" brings us to Alley or Jabo, and I'm not feeling like committing at this time.

    Right. 1990's or 2000's.
  8. Yeah ... we were at 48 today ... raining all day ... gonna go back to 12 tonight ... with snow somewhere on the way down.

    MK

Guess that's a true "hybrid". Like from when the runs were switching over.

Mix of old and new. Is that a blue and brown mix in the patch on the first one?
  11. Hi Ken. Glad to have you. Looking forward to seeing your marbles.

    Akro?

Akro seams are typically longer and straighter.

    Akro?

    I'm going with Imperial here.
  14. Well, I wasn't sure on the first one, but I'm not a CAC person so I didn't want to cast doubt without reason.
  15. What does it look like backlit?

    Jaobo?

I'm just not getting a handle on whether we're looking at a bunch of Jabos or maybe a bunch of Champs, so I will wait for someone else to chime in on this and the other threads.
  17. yeah, having a bunch ups the odds of them being Jabo ... I just don't recognize them
  18. I could be wrong to say "coral". @jeeperman could have been all ready to comment but then had to hold back because he didn't want to hurt my feelings after I got that wrong. So, I'd be guessing it's a Ravenswood, and maybe the closest they come to a coral, so we have sometimes called it a coral. But the ones we most commonly have called corals were thought to be Champion and then they became Alley, and I don't know if the one we called Ravenswood stayed Ravenswood or not.
  19. Type 4. Unless the type numbers have changed since I learn them. Type 1 through 3 have a clear base. 4 is opaque. http://www.joemarbles.com/3Marble Articles/Chuck Brandstetter/What is a Vitro Tiger Eye.htm
