  1. gorgeous but if I had unlimited money, I would probably follow the snow .... I'd have a summer home in some wintry place. Might not go there all the time ... I did enjoy having a garden this summer .... but hey, if I had unlimited money, I could have a greenhouse in my wintery home! So ... snow it is!
  2. Hi. Welcome. I lived there when I was four.
  3. We need our swirl guys. SOS. Seems like I should know that marble. The filaments in the base could be a big clue. But it's been awhile since I've played with swirls and I've misplaced my swirl sample cases ... .(yes, I've lost my marbles).
  4. #12 is a Vitro Tiger Eye. #7 is a probably a Vitro Conqueror. #1, 2 and 10 may also be. I'll be back to take another whack at these later if no one beats me to it.
  5. Back in the day "snotty" was used for other marbles too, not just CAC's. But we've narrowed it down quite a bit since then. And the one at the link doesn't fit my picture of "snotty". That's a reputable seller ... but I don't know where they're coming from with this particular marble.
  6. I wouldn't have guessed CAC for the marble at the link.

    At a loss.

Look at the white glass here -- it's kinda seedy. If we were looking at a WV swirl, I'd be thinking "Cairo Novelty". I'm not seeing anything here which suggests "veneering" to me. I googled ... and may see the photo you're referring to. So basically I need more input about transparent ribbons on Whities ... but also, to me, this marble doesn't look right for Vitro in the white glass either. Need some Whities pictures!
  8. Something a little different about it. It's not calling out to me as one which would have been in a Tri-Color Agate run. But that's as close as I can get to a name.

    At a loss.

Whities are veneered marbles and that transparent ribbon seems to run awfully deep. I can't swear a whitie can't have a transparent ribbon ... but that's what ruled it out for me.
  10. The swirl isn't distinct, but I guess it _could_ be an Alley. What size is it? That's all I got .... hopefully someone else will feel more confident. Oh, how opaque or clear is the blue?
  11. Pix from original packaging have been posted before ... there are some in these two threads. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/11352-kokomo-examples/ http://marbleconnection.com/topic/19506-original-kokomo-packaging/ Some pictures are missing and some links are messed up, thanks to Photobucket's unhappy changes. We need a new comprehensive Kokomo thread. But maybe this will give you something to go on for now.
  12. The larger image is something to behold. I can email it if you are interested.
  13. ^^ I added a small version of the photo Scott sent me. A larger version is available. My picture host just wasn't working as I expected it to.
  14. Lotsa ox! My only guess is the New Decade run from 2010.
  15. Oh gosh, thank you. You know I feel the same. Merry Christmas to all!
  16. ooooh ... mystery patches .... good challenge! Happy Christmas.
  17. so much variety .... which is different! Come to think of it, I can't remember us talking about that before. All the companies have variety ... but most also had standard runs which take up the bulk of what we find from those companies. The bulk of Masters are in a general sunburst style but are all over the place with nearly random colors. How'd they do that?
  18. This year we got our first Christmas tree since about 1984. Next year a Pelt Christmas Tree!
  19. I have a general impression of seeing different Vitros in European bags than in American ... not sure how accurate the impression or why there would be differences.
  20. They have a Tiger Eye pattern. A later Tiger Eye from the 1960's. But if they're even later than that, then they might not have a name. I started calling them "all-reds with no red" ... before I learned that it was a Tiger Eye variation.
