  1. That's rather starry also. Lovely.
  2. One of Edna's Salazars in honor of the holiday
  3. Uh oh ... glad you showed us these others. So far everything looks modern. That Bennington looks very weird -- I don't know what anyone was trying to do with it -- gonna guess it was a recent project though. If glass, the ones which started the thread could be ground down from something else. Cullet is sometimes ground into marbles and ends up with cool patterns. I'm not the best person to send marbles to. I would try to look them over and return them promptly but I'm in the middle of packing for a move and not always good with timely mail. *sheepish*
  4. I do NOT remember that. XXXcellent choice
  5. Randy ... your turn is coming again pretty soon, I'm sure of it.
  6. What the heck is right! They came with antique marbles? They're lovely but my guess would be painted ceramic or polymer clay. (and not very old)
  7. That's adorable. And new to me. If you see a swirl structure in the marbles, then I'd agree Alley. That's a beauty.
  8. Their Gropper box looks good, no? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-VTG-PELTIER-M-GROPPER-SONS-CERISE-AGATES-NO-0-BOX-OF-25-NEAR-MINT-0-580-/152143181079
  9. Is the stained glass old? Or you think repro there? And I just noticed it's a marbles purse. I don't remember seeing a purse before. You?
  10. 'kay .... just checking to make sure we were talking about standard sizes, not boulders. That would have changed the computations.
  11. Was trying to get a feel for what shooter bananas were worth individually ... ran across these and got totally sidetracked? I _guess_ this was purchased for the stained glass box ....?? But the bananas ... they're frosted .... did Pelt ever do that on purpose? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-PELTIER-GLASS-CO-BANANA-CAT-EYE-STAINED-GLASS-BOX-W-MARBLES-BAG-/152117497365 Anyone seen anything like this before?
  12. Since they're shooters, that probably makes them a little less common. I don't know value. But at less than $15, that might make them attractive items for later trades?
  13. Thanks Al .... we skipped Q .... that's why I was trying to remember the Australian marbles ... was wondering if they started with Q. ...... very very fuzzy memory ..... I was probably wrong .....
  14. Me too (baffled). Jabo flits through the mind but what ribbons there are are a little more ribbon-y than Jabo. Also, these are from your family group, right? A minimal amount of ribboning can suggest Cairo Novelty. The orange one doesn't look so strange. It could probably slide in with the Alleys. But that green?? That deep transparent green ... I'm not placing that at all.
  15. I remember a seed or nut or pod or some other natural item which was supposedly used as a playing marble in Australia. Does this ring a bell with anyone? You wouldn't happen to know what they were called, would you?
  16. Such sweet colors. Mine is the classic red and white. Since they're Miller machine marbles, you can still say you're sticking with the vintage connections. Maybe you can slow your slide down that slippery slope.
  17. Yes, that was Akro's name for their red slag.
  18. Alley looks good for the pattern on the blue. Maybe a photo in different lighting on the green one? And it looks like it could have seams ... does it? A pic of those would be good.
