  1. I'm doing grate, but I could be cheddar.
  2. Al, comparing the marbles and the box damage, it looks like the same box.
  3. George is a font of knowledge. I should ask him about this box. I thought about this being after the Master purchase of Akro. However, the Master marbles are from the beginning of the Master production ... so 20 years before that purchase. P.s. Sourlis
  4. Neat! That green is a new time to me. As in ... completely new type ... I don't remember seeing it before with or without a label.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-230-Akro-Agate-Marble-Box-5-8-21-32-/361526220624? I don't remember ever seeing a box with this general decoration with a clear window. And as an added twist it appears to have some nice early Masters in it.
  6. Those springy flowery ones made me "oooh". (so did the German box earlier)
  7. Akro Flinties, recently sold on ebay
  8. That's a tricky one. I could see it maybe having come from an Ace run but one with little white. Might need some of the white in there to get the opalescence. Have you seen the Peerless peewees which almost have a clear base ... just a wisp of white? [Very late edit: I'm pretty sure I would have meant to say Acme Realers there, rather than Peerless Patches.] Since we don't see Aces identified very often, I've often wondered how short the production time was, and if it was short then why that might have been so. And one of my guesses was that it was hard to control the consistency of the Ace base.
  9. You Might Be A Marble Addict .... if when you see the headlines about the Masters Tournament, you expect to see pictures of marbles ..... and you fall that for 7 times in a row.
  10. And the marbles you posted with the fire inside reminded me of that as something which sense mixed messages. I remember how often I hoped the fire I was seeing meant Akro, but now I realize how very many makers produced balls of fire.
  11. Yes, I guess as a related subject we could have the cold rolls and nozzle marks that newbies think look like pontils.
  12. I have a marble which long ago I hoped was a coral ... but it really didn't come close. And my best guess for it was CAC. Need to fish that out and get opinions on it.
  13. That peewee is a nice one to put at the end of the coral continuum.
  14. Spicy fried radishes over rice.
  15. Pinx! *flying tackle hug* Sending out an SOS to Edna ....
