Peltier. National Line Rainbos. Also called NLR's. With that coloring, I think each would get the additional name of Bumblebee. Actually, more views please. Definite NLR on the right. Not 100% sure on the left. Pretty sure it's a Peltier. But it might be what we just call a Rainbo, as opposed to a National Line Rainbo. Do you see aventurine in both of them? (Roll it around in sunlight, or under a nice lamp and see if you see sparkle or shimmer in the ribbons of both.)

Alley. I think each is the color combo called a "West Virginian" but wait for confirmation from someone else before you write that down.

Greg, what would you call the two on the left? I would have been brave and said latticinios on the right, but I didn't know about the left.

Is the base transparent glass? From these views, and assuming the base is transparent red, I'm going to go with Akro Onyx Corkscrews. More views or information could change my mind. (Not oxblood -- oxblood is opaque.)

And these would be German handmades. Antiques. I often move the handmades to the main chat forum to try to get the attention of people who know their names. So moving this one thataway.

At those sizes, I will vote Alley for all. I started to say the ribbons with both green and brown move those marbles over into the "cool" pile, but I really don't want to single those out. The Boulder size makes all cool, and I don't think transparent based ones at that size are all that common.

5. Akro Popeye (yes, that's a Corkscrew) 6. Looks like another Akro Limeade 7. Another Akro Popeye 8. That looks like an Alley. Alley Agate. I agree it could be called a flame. And I agree with the color count of two.

Welcome, Duckers. Post some marbles in the ID forum and let's have some fun! Post 'em in small groups for ID and start a new thread for each small group of marbles. Works best that way. (But no harm in giving us a bigger group shot to get a feel for what you have.)

That is gorgeous in the close-up views. I'm seeing Akro Corkscrew pattern there. So that's my vote. Akro Corkscrew. The colors seem like they might be an uncommon combination ... maybe someone else can weigh in on that.

Hmmmm ... the color is Carnelian, but I don't see it as fitting the patterns of the marbles which are officially called "Carnelians". These translucent and transparent swirls are less likely to get ID's. More views might help someone else, but I'd probably put it into a general swirl box and leave it there while I worked on other IDs.

Okay, this is weird. The colors say Akro. The pattern is strange. Could be a rejected marble dug from the Akro site. Where in West Virginia did your grandfather live?
