  1. What Winnie said. I'm leaning Akro because of the seams and because of most of the color being on one end.
  2. Here's an earlier pic I took of my strange stone which looks just like a gumball in hand. Folks decided it was bloodstone.
  3. Well, it's a slag. I would guess Akro.
  4. I have heard of DeGraffenreid. I think Ann and Dave have some of his. With three people talking about him, maybe it's time I started learning more. I'll pull out my little collection of stones and maybe I'll get a picture of it. Anything could happen.
  5. People have spoken of Akro having different machines for at least two different sizes. With experimental marbles run on the machines for the larger size.
  6. I kinda sorta remember them getting marble-related help after the war. My working theory is still that the transitionals were pre-war. And then we have the jump from transitionals, whenever they were, to cat's eyes in the early 50's. I love this topic.
  7. The flying monkey looks dejected about losing that marble.
  8. If I recognized that structure I would have tried to make a joke about how much clear that akro astronomical sighting was in that country. Foiled again by my lack of culture!
  9. I'm baaaaaack. Lots of reading to catch up on.
  10. I'm not here again. I have something I MUST MUST MUST do right now soonest before I post any more. But happy April.
  11. That looks so great in the photograph. I think it must look even better than it could in hand.
  12. I split the origin-of-exotics post off. They're over here: http://marbleconnection.com/topic/20643-origin-of-exotics-cont/
  13. I had some softly worn ones which I sold to someone who probably didn't appreciate them as much as I did. I have about three left. I like those. You know, no conspicuous chips. No cracks. Just a whole lot of pocket wear.
  14. Not getting a great feel for the structure, but the colors are really loudly saying, "Peltier Multicolor".
  15. It's not an Exotic. It's just really strange.
