The lack of color on the inside of that last half is interesting! edit: I posted that before I enlarged the thumbnail. I see more color now inside. But it's still cool how most of it is on the surface.

Not saying Horace Hill wouldn't have exaggerated, but it seems theoretically possible that it could have been higher earlier. Couple of possible factors come to mind: Wasn't Martin Christensen known to have paid especially good wages? And what effect did the depression have on wages? So ... who has MFC's account books?

Once upon a time they were believed to be Akro. Keep them with Vitro. They're from the 1930's and were part of the "Tri-lite" line.

Maybe they were supposed to be the wheel for a different kind of caster.

Bump! I do feel pretty good about Akro on the green but I won't bet my cats on it.

The front right look like Akro to me. Not necessarily seeing Vitro on the blue and yellow. Could they be Akro? No idea on the back. You pretty sure they're old?

My theory is that the metallic came out accidentally due to some sort of excess or otherwise uncontrolled quality of the metallic elements used to make the blue glass. The relative rarity of these suggests to me that it was relatively easy to stop this from happening with the dark blue glass ... perhaps easier than it was to control the appearance of oxblood in turquoise glass.

Some past references to Red Jenny: No opinion from me on the auction you're looking at. Except that even if it turns out to be a CAC, that is a significantly higher price than I recall hearing discussed for a Jenny the one time I remember such a discussion.
