  1. That's weird. I thought I posted that over at the invisionzone address. And then it didn't seem to take hold, which made sense, since that says offline. But then it pops up here? Maybe I only thought I was over there. .... 'kay I'll wait for more announcements!
  2. Check this address: http://marbleconnection.com/
  3. I meant the auction on the ebay search page you linked to. No bids yet but over six days to go. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390371030535 Here's one which was listed for $110 but ended early. http://www.ebay.com/itm/130490369057
  4. Nifty. I toldja I didn't know bagatelle! lol Glad you found it. Will be interesting to see how that auction turns out.
  5. I'm sure you're right about the sulphides being imported. I'm not sure why there would need to be repackaging. Wellll ... actually I did one time read something which made me think that Hong Kong did some repackaging of items they got from Japan to try to skirt "Certificate of Origin" and "Imperial Preference" rules. But I'm still naive enough to believe that most of the time people were honest about country of origin! ( :
  6. It appears that our internet host changed (or they would say repaired) the way they were measuring the amount of space our uploads used. By the current way of counting, the board is above the quota by a very large amount. Don't go deleting all your old attachments. I think a couple hundred people might have to delete to get us down below the quota. ( : But never fear! Lou is working on the solution now. Don't know how long it will take but in the meantime, looks like we can still post, and if you have photobucket or another host, we can still see pix! Thanks!
  7. There seems to be a glitch. Those should load. Hopefully we'll have it straightened out soon.
  8. Auction pix of tri-color agates: Some close-ups of a similar marble. Don't know who took these pix. Just ran across them again today while looking at an old thread.
  9. Interesting about the prizes. Fwiw, here's a pic of the game from the catalog page. Palm trees, not pirates.
  10. MF Christensen did market in Canada: Here are some "snippets" from a Canadian trade journal:
  11. Cool beans. New to me! Nerlich & Co of Canada http://www.mckendry.net/TOYS/NERLICH.htm
  12. Is this it? (pdf of a 1939 catalog page, Canadian company) It says 4 marbles here and I don't see a mention of a prize. But doesn't hurt to ask? I'd guess maybe it had Japanese marbles? http://www.collectio...lc005956.70.pdf
  13. Not ringing a bell. I've seen a lot of mentions of bagatelle games but don't know about the different styles.
  14. When you think Copperhead do you think MK first? I think Pelt first but I remember that MK had one too. Those are great pix!
  15. Is this it? --------------------------------> Butterscotch Beauty ?
  16. One game where the play area appears to have been between a boy's legs was The Pyramid ..... http://books.google....AAAYAAJ&pg=PA74 http://books.google.com/books?id=cfM-AAAAYAAJ&pg=PA22
  17. This thread has some pictures of marbles being made. Maybe you could contact the author there. http://anythinggoes43567.yuku.com/topic/2043 Plus it has a lot of pretty marbles! ( :
  18. Neat! I think I've seen a game like that described. Maybe I can find it again ....
  19. Thank you George! It was great to finally find that! It was sooooooo disappointing to get the June magazine and not find the announcement in it!!!
