  1. Here's the picture from peltiermarbles.com, might help the discussion.
  2. won't try to find top and bottom on those! lol Awesome mibs, Scott.
  3. Possible workaround: can you right click and open in a new window?
  4. Here's one which was presented in a thread about horseshoes. source
  5. Good deal! Thanks for solving the mystery and hunting out those pix.
  6. LOL. Had to look hard for the boy under the dog! Fun pix. :-)
  7. I quoted the whole commment. Perty much all they said was it looked like a Pelt . . . and it came with some other comics. edit: oops, I didn't see yours when I posted yesterday Dan. Mystery was already solved then and I didn't know it. Thanks.
  8. so soon? Someone might get a bargain out of this.
  9. hotdog! Hope Jack sees this post! He has some little cross-thrus we struggled with, since we didn't have proof that any that small came from Japan.
  10. I might have seen small opaque ones. I think Road Dog mighta had one or more small ones. I'm trying to remember whether his were clear or solid.
  11. Anyone notice this comment at Marbleforum.org? On the Pelt Comics page, someone asked about a Jiggs comic marble. Jiggs was an old strip character. Is Jiggs on the Marble King repros?
  12. Just saying. The Stanley-Lapics are major Jabo fans. Jabos are the marbles used in the local school tournaments in their area. According to Debra, the kids love the colors. Debra and Whitney's tourney shooters are/include real agates but the marbles featured in the recent articles and interviews about their trip to England were Jabos.
  13. Bumping with a new pic of my particular Rosenthal peewees. (And near peewees.) I have two sets now. Green patches and blue patches. The green is most or all transparent. The blue is most or all opaque. This scan does not show the blue shade at all well. In hand the blue is much darker and richer than it is coming across on my monitor. And the white is too bright on my monitor. But some other details come out fairly well in the scan, so here it is.
  14. There are some Ravenswood bags for sale in the Buy-Sell-Trade forum. Did you see them? Rick found a cache of them. But they're not that common in general, if I understand correctly. http://marbleconnection.com/index.php?showtopic=13373
  15. LOL. You tricked me. I still didn't know which question you were asking. I didn't say there were a lot of Christensen marbles turned out. Simply that companies regularly sold their marbles in boxes. There would be a lot of reasons for Chrissie marble boxes not to survive after the Depression, a lot of factors making the box rare and pricey in present day.
  16. oooooo, I have a blood viper. coooool.
  17. To the best of my understanding, that's how Akro (and others) sold them on a regular baais. I think that's how they shipped them to retailers. Sometimes it would be a counter box, and kids would choose individual marbles from it. Sometimes dealers would advertise the whole box for sale.
  18. So, here's my Jabo Cobra which David was trying to post. David, the pic at Yuku has a weird extension, pjpg, instead of jpg. So this board don't like it. I kinda like the Viper name.
  19. So is cyclone the same as cobra? Are the names interchangeable? Or is one a subcategory of the other?
  20. There's gotta be someone in the area. Doesn't there? Well, I don't know exactly what "in the area" would be but it sure seems like a lot of collectors in Ohio.
  21. Do you mean that horrible wooden Master box? I think that seller was in Maine at last sighting. Here's the auction I had in mind. The item location for this one was given as New Mexico, so it looks like a completely different situation. Item #150430039837 I'm still guessing it might have been an innocent combination of vintage items. I did a little googling and there was a Majestic greeting card company founded in Brooklyn in 1938. Company site. So that's the way I'm leaning for now. Maybe an old box, but not as old as the super cool marble box inside, and brought together at some point after the paper inside was used up. jmho!
  22. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, shimmmery
